Same Vehicle in multiple Slots - Help

Featured Replies

Hey everyone,  I have searched my tale off for an answer to this question but haven't found an answer, so I'm reaching out to you guys.

I play LSPDFR and I stream (very small time just for fun).  I use 3 South Carolina Highway Patrol Vehicles in the default slots the developer assigned them to.  I'd like to have all Police in the Same SCHP uniform and all Cars /SUVs to be one of the 3 Vehicles I'm currently using.  With that said, what do I need to do to assign my 3 preferred Police Vehicles to Sheriff, Police, HP, and FIB?  I know there are handling lines for each and plan to use the appropriate slots for sedans vs SUV.

Thanks in advance,

Jager

Just replace over the slots that you want.  The handling line only needs to be touched via the vehicles.meta, the handlingid.  With that, change it to whatever suits the vehicle.  So if it's an Explorer, change the handlingid to gresley.

I need donations to help fund my food addiction. DM for details 😂

If you are putting cars in slots with the same type of vehicle, you don't really have to modify any handling lines.  It's as simple as renaming the filenames of the vehicles to match the one you want to replace.  For example, let's say you want your "police3" vehicle to also be "sheriff2", just rename police3.yft, police3_hi.yft, police3.ytd, [police3+hi.ytd, if exists], to sheriff2.yft, sheriff2_hi.yft, sheriff2.ytd, etc., and replace.  That's it.  If they're ELS vehicles, don't forget to rename the ELS XML file and copy it over as well.

Thank you Kallus and Sixium for your help on this.  Everything has been easy to pickup so far thanks to Albo's videos, but things like this weren't covered in them.

@sixium  I missed the ELS XML bit when I read your reply the first time.  Thanks for the info on that one.
