Endless issues

Featured Replies

So this is my third time trying to install LSPDFR and albo's mods, and I still get incompatibility issues, missing dependencies (not up-to-date core mods), and crashes within a few minutes of starting going on duty.

Can someone give me a detailed walkthrough to installing LSPDFR, Albo's other mods (Traffic policer, Arrest Manager, LSPDFR+, SmartRadio, and Assorted Callouts), and how to go about installing vehicle and character textures and models?

Also, can you group all your mods in a mod folder under the GTA V folder? This would make my life much easier than trying to find out what belongs to the vanilla game and what comes from a mod.

When it comes to replacing over game files for vehicles, gun sounds, etc, you're supposed to use a mods folder - http://openiv.com/?p=1132

While there are plenty of Youtube tutorials from Jeff Favignano and First30Minutes, it's honestly not hard at all to install Rage, LSPDFR, or LSPDFR plugins.  It's a simple drag and drop to the correct locations. I do believe one of Albo's mods has not been updated in a while, though I'm not sure of that.  He has his own Discord server you can ask him about it.

So can I put all my mods into a single mod folder? And how is OpenIV supposed to help me?  The website is not exactly clear as to what it does precisely.

Yes, but also no.  The mods folder will protect your vanilla files, however, if you need to replace something in the mods-->update-->update folder, it still needs to follow that path, you can't just throw the file in and it works.

OpenIV allows you to get into the rpf files and edit the game files.  Without it, you wouldn't be able to mod cars, weapons, sounds, etc.

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying here. I've had no mod instructions tell me I had to do anything else (file-wise) than copy files to the GTA V folder...

I'm more referring to vehicle files, audio files, etc.  Mods like LSPDFR callouts are a simple drag and drop.  LSPDFR callouts, scripts, asi plugins are all drag and drop into respective folders.  Files that edit game data such as vehicles, peds, are a bit more complex.

Right. So as long as its drag n drop into GTA V folder, my Mod folder is good to go?

Yep!  Remember to follow the instructions on the OpenIV site so your mod folder actually has content inside of it.

So I went on Facebook and followed Albo's video to download LSPDFR and Ragehook (more recent than Jeff's) and it was actually disastrous in that I didn't even get as far as I did on my own. In this case, the game wouldn't even launch from Ragehook. (Error 115: game not launching from steam)

Ideas?
