GTA Crashing Issue

Featured Replies

So. My GTA was working one day. Then the next day. I can't even get in the game because GTA started crashing. I haven't changed anything since the day it was working. Note this was with mods. So I took out every mod I had installed, tried to go on GTA and still keeps crashing. I don't even get to get in the game. The launcher closes then right after my game crashes. So after frustration, I decided to reinstall GTA so now I have a completely fresh copy of GTA. I launch the game and it still crashes. I really don't know what to do and I can't finish any of my projects.

Check your copy of your gameconfig. Had this happen before and that was my issue

What would I be looking for?

Not really sure but search around for a gameconfig file that allows numerous car mods, a recent file, save the old one somewhere and replace it with the new in case that doesn’t fix it.

Just tried it. Still is crashing

You said you reinstalled.  Do you still have a completed game, or are you back at the prologue?

Should be back at prologue since I reinstalled it. But I don't know since I cant get in the game.

If you launch via Steam/GTA5.exe, it should let you in game.  Once you are, you need to play through the prologue until you're at a free roam point. Rage is not going to work if the game loads directly into a story mission.

I repeat I'm using a fresh installation. No mods at all installed.

My apologies.  Try verifying integrity of game cache.
