Hi guys, today i purchased GTA 5 as a retail copy and was sent a key and a download link for the game,

all well and good, until i downloaded RAGE Plugin so that i could use the LSPD and become a police officer.

after hours of downloads etc, i then load up RAGE to get told the game isn't supported.

can someone please guide me as to where i have gone wrong and how i update my game?

 

That appears to be an old copy of rage. The new one I believe is 56

Do you have a link to it? and is it as simple as just erase the current 1 and install the latest version and try again?

For that menu you need to go on duty via the police station.  Going on duty via Rage menu is normally the faster way if you use skin control and EUP.

i'm a total newbie to this, so any info would be great.

so do i simply go to the police station to get this menu?

and how do i get the super cars like lambaghini police cars?

There is going to be a black badge with a white star in it on the map you go there for that menu. And as far as different cars you need to download them and use openiv to install them. Albo1125 has a video on YouTube on how to install cars if I am not mistake. 

I went into the police station, and after pressing F4, i had exactly the same thing pop up.

You don't press F4 in the police station. :) Go to the exact location where the badge is on your map.  Either go to the entrance of the station or go into the locker rooms if you're at the downtown police station.  You'll see a prompt to go on duty.
