Computer reboots its self?

Featured Replies

I have been having trouble with my LSPDFR, Whenever I am playing it withing 5-20 minutes of game play my computer will just automatically restart itself. However, GTA V/LSPDFR is the only game that this accrues on, any ideas of what might be the problem? Thank you for your time!

My Specs:

i7 7700k

EVGA GTX 1080 FTW

8 GB of R.A.M(maybe the the problem?)

EVGA 750W PSU

I have recently upgraded my p.c and the only thing I have not changed yet is the R.A.M/ However, before I upgraded to the I7, 1080, and the PSU I didn't have much of a problem..

I'm not computer savvy, but I don't think not enough ram would cause a restart.  It sounds like maybe your computer is overheating.

Insufficient ram will not cause a computer shutdown just slow the game down. I would reccommend using CPUID's HWMonitor to watch your temps while you game. What cooling solution do you have for your CPU your GPU will not even be stressed by this game enough to overheat it?

If in doubt reinstall.

I have a standard cooling system that came with my p.c originally .

It's definitely something with your computer, though.   Mods/plugins do not cause the computer to full on shut down or restart, that is a your computer thing.  I'd triple check and be positive it's not an overheating thing.

Desktop/laptop?

I solved this issue by setting the maximum processor state in the advanced power options of the power plan options screen. Although with you having a desktop, I'm not sure if these options exist for you (I have a laptop).

UPDATE:

I have just put in a liquid cooling system, to see if the problem was my CPU over-heating... turns out that was not the main cause of the game to completely rebooting my system. The only thing left in my PC that hasn't been upgraded is the ram. So any  new idea what is going on??? My I.T guy from work has no idea either.
