Game not loading post update

Featured Replies

Hi

In summary:

1. prior to update no problems

2. updated RPH and new patch update (no other updates or changes made)

3. when launching GTA V via RPH game will stay 'loading' on opening screens of characters, no progression

4. when launching GTA V via Social Club game will not reach opening screens but stops working ('windows has detected a problem'...etc) and GTA is closed.

I have launched GTA V using 'verify' command and as administrator... and it still results in a crash.

I have a feeling I'm going to have to uninstall GTA and re-install however just in case there is another way I thought I'd put this up.

Any suggestions appreciated!

Thanks!

In your GTA V directory, assuming you have a mods folder, please rename it to _mods and then try loading in.

Wow! Of all the things I tried to troubleshoot the problem, inserting an underscore into the name of a file definitely did not cross my mind.

BUT...it worked!! Somehow. No idea how that pesky thing caused so much of an issue but there you have it.

Thanks Kallus Rourke you sure know your stuff. A solid high five to you my friend! You saved me a lot of time and a massive headache!

Thanks!

You're most welcome!  From here, we need to figure out what in the mods folder is causing this.  Did you update the update.rpf in your mods folder?

I updated my update.rpf in my mods folder as well as entirely deleting and creating a new mods folder (just to be sure). And I now I have a 'back-to-normal' functioning LSPDFR game.

Thanks again! You're a legend!
