so its been a few months since ive played and it seems like this new update screwed some things up for me, first after updating gta5 and ragehook the game was stuck in a loading screen forever, after reading that  my update/rpf that may need changed or recopied to the mods folder again  I noticed it was corrupted and I couldnt move it to the mods folder. any idea of a fix for this?

Hi there,

 

When remaking your update.rpf, you'd delete it, then go into the vanilla update.rpf (in OpenIV) and click "edit mode".  Then you'd be prompted to create this folder in the mods folder.

that's what I tried to do , the update.rpf isn't in the update folder in vanilla anymore , that one was corrupted too. at one point I deleted it and now I'm not sure how to get it back

You'll need to verify integrity of game cache.

I'm not even sure what that is or means lol , can you tell me what that means in computer noob terms?

Are you on the Steam version or disc?

ok so I went through that verify thing twice , both times about halfway through give or take gta5 closes unexpectedly just like it does when I try to load the game

Since it's not even letting you verify, your best bet might be to reinstall GTA.
