I play on a FiveM server that doesnt have ELS installed, and I want to put an amber lightbar on a tow truck, but all the amber lightbars are ELS only, so my question is, what happens if I put a ELS lightbar on when the server doesnt have ELS installed?

I know nothing when it comes to vehicle development, but I'm going to say it won't work.  If it does work, it may not function properly.

Your vehicle would still work, your lightbar would just never light up.

Thank you @sixium. Figured I would ask before I spend all that time putting a lightbar on and figure out it doesn't work.

The way ELS works is that your "lights" become extras instead of actual lights, and the ELS code just manipulates which extras are on or off your vehicle at specified times based on which lighting pattern you select.  It's the reason why ELS cars are not as "customizable", as in, they don't have multiple spotlights, rambars, and antennas you can play around with because all the extras are used up as lights.  When you don't have ELS installed, the extras on the vehicle remain static and are randomly selected when you spawn the vehicle.  When you press "J" nothing happens because that's an ELS key.  To the game itself, it "sees" nothing wrong, and having an ELS vehicle in GTAV without ELS installed won't break the game whatsoever.  Your lightbar(s) just won't work.
