ELS/Code 2 AI Lights No Working

Featured Replies

Hello,

I've tried searching for this on the form already and I couldn't find anything. If there is already a post feel free to direct me there as I'm stuck.

I've installed ELS for LSPDFR and also a car pack of police cars. The lights on my car work fine, all 3 stages. The AI's lights work fine on Code 3. However, whenever I call for backup Code 2 they AI response but with no lights. I'm assuming this has something to do with ELS, but I'm not sure. Any direction of where and what to look at would be great.

Here are a list of my current mods.

Assorted Call Outs by Albo

Better EMS

Callout Manager

EUP

Native Trainer

LSPDFR+ By Albo

More Control

Police Smart Radio

LSPD Legacy Pack

Traffic Policer

Thank you so much for the help!

A code 2 response is no lights only through heavy traffic and red lights.  So the AI isn't going to use their lights on code 2. Code 2 also means no siren at all, just your air horn through red lights and heavy traffic.   If you want them to respond with lights and sirens then select code 3.

Actually, code 2 varies per place.  In some places code 2 is lights only and no siren, or only blipping the siren through intersections.  What code 2 is in LSPDFR, I assume, is based off California response.

Every single youtube video I've watched and every time I select code 2 response the AI has never came with their lights or sirens on.  That's what I was basing it off of.  If we are being realistic and the officer you requested didn't just spawn a block away he would have used his lights through intersections on his way to you once he got the call through some of the intersections. :)

It's just like I see people going code 3 to a shoplifting call or an indecent exposure code 3 and I'm for everyone playing lspdfr how they want, but it just makes me laugh because those calls don't even need a code 2 response.  You can still obey traffic laws going to that call.  I'll usually go code 2 if traffic is being stupid though just to get through that traffic but go back to 1 once I'm past them lol.

It seems like before I started using ELS when I requested back up Code 2 that the AI would respond with lights (no sirens). But maybe I'm wrong. But either way I guess I'm not going for super realistic, I'm not sure what the real rules are of responding code 2 in real life.

But outside of realism, if I wanted AI units to respond code 2 with lights on, would either of you know how I could edit/change this? I just enjoy them responding with lights on with Code 2.

Thank you for the replies thus far! I appreciate it!

No, you're correct on that.  Code 2 backup should be responding with lights, which is how prisoner transport usually works as well.  My PT responds code 2, but my code 2 backup has never shown up, so I'm unable to actually say if they respond with lights for me or not.  I'll try again in a bit.

Unfortunately, aside from the code 2 backup menu, there isn't a way to have them respond code 2.  Computer+ offers a code 2 response, but this is the same backup that never shows up, lol.

I don't use ELS and they don't show up with their lights on.  They only show up with lights on if I request a transport.  A code 2 response varies.  It's not the same in all states.  You might go to your police department and ask them what it means and then go to another PD in another state and they may tell you something completely different.  Each agency has their own policies.  That's why I posted a suggestion to add a configurations settings with LSPDFR so you can customize it to your liking.  The only way to change the code 2 response for backup would be to actually go into the files of LSPDFR and code it yourself but you would need Sam's permission before doing that because it's his mod.

What do you mean they never show up?  When I request backup using the LSPDFR computer or using the regular backup menu they always show up for me.  Sometimes yeah they will show up and just drive off, but at least they are still nearby.  Most of the time though, my backup will park close to me and then just get out of their car and stand there.

So I think I understand what you're saying. But let me clarify what I'm experiencing and see.

When I have someone pulled over and I press "b" and pull up my menu, navigate to the code 2 menu and request another unit. When the AI unit shows up (and it usually always does) it does not have its lights on. As I recall before install ELS and my car pack, the AI units would show up with their lights on responding to code 2.

But it sounds like you are saying they never even show up for you, correct?

Thanks for this information Luke. It thought i recalled my backup AI units showing up with their lights (until i added ELS an my car pack) on like I mentioned above, but maybe I remember wrong.

You mentioned that when you request a transport they would respond with their lights on. When I request a transport they do not show up with their lights on. Any thoughts?

Thank you!

They don't, but I rarely request code 2 backup via "b", I request it via Computer+, which is probably why they don't show up. :P  Them no longer showing up with lights is definitely ELS related.  Not too sure why, though.

Thanks Kallus, its good to narrow it down to ELS for sure. Do you have anyother other suggestions in terms of where I could look for help? Or would it just be best to see if Iget some other replies here?

Your best bet is to wait and see in this topic, as well as checking out the file comments for ELS.  The creator of ELS does not offer any support, though.  The support you'll receive will be from other regular players such as you and me.

Alright, I'll see if I get any other responses here. Thank you both for the help. Much appreciated.
