Whats the vehicle file name for State Trooper cars?

Featured Replies

I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong thread, but I figured this was the most relevant area I can ask this question.

My question is simple. it seems every car pack I download includes police files 1 through 4, Sheriff 1 and 2, FBI 1 and 2, and some even have Pranger files, but I never know how or see a file that replaces the State Trooper (motorcycle unit).

I downloaded a State Trooper/Highway Patrol car pack and would really like that to replace the default motorcycle unit.

Thanks in advance.

poiceb is for the bike.

Also Policeold, and policeold2 are for the North Yankton cars

Technically, there is only one state trooper slot, and that is POLICEB.  Normally people will replace other slots such as  SHERIFF, FBI, etc in order to get in state patrol and/or highway patrol vehicles.  You can install state patrol vehicles as add-on/standalone.  TheHurk's CHP pack comes in a standalone version, but it's highway patrol, not state patrol.

Thank you so much, I read that I can rename sherriff2 (or any other file) to place it as a PoliceB slot and it'll work, is that true?

Yes, however, that will require you to edit the vehicles.meta and change the handlingid from POLICEB to better suit your car.

so I've renamed then replaced one of the police cars to policeb and everytime I try to spawn it my game crashes.

The files that were renamed were police4 yft and ytd, police4_hi and police4+hi, all of these 4 were renamed to policeb and I obviously kept the _hi +hi ones in.

Note, the game only crashes when I try to spawn Police Bike.

I don't want to keep annoying with these questions, if you know of any guide that shows me how to rename vechile files to different slots please guide me to it.

Thank you.

Honestly, renaming vehicles for different slots is not hard at all.  You can do it one of two ways.

1) All you need to do is take the files of the vehicles you want. Lets say all those files are named sample.yft, sample.ytd, and sample_hi.yft.

We want this sample vehicle to be our POLICEB slot.  So, we will rename the POLICEB slot.

In the vehicles.rpf, you will delete the POLICEb vehicle files and place the new vehicle files.

Next, you will go to the vehicles.meta and extract it to your desktop.  Open it, and look for "POLICEB".  You should be brought to the vehicle meta lines for this slot.  Now all you do is change modelName, txdName, and gameName to sample.  Next, change "handlingid" to police, police2, police3, Gresley (Explorer), or Baller (Tahoe).  Whichever suits you.  Finally, you will need to change the audioNameHash to POLICE, POLICE2, or POLICE3.

The second method you cam do is just rename the new vehicle you want to POLICEB and keep the same name. The only thing you will change is the handlingid and audioNameHash.

Since you're crashing when trying to spawn in this vehicle, you've done something incorrectly.

Please clarify for me.  What exactly are you trying to do?  Are you trying to switch the POLICEB slot for an actual cruiser?
