Stuck on "Loading Story Mode"??

Featured Replies

Hey guys I'll try to keep this short. I haven't played any lspdfr since the latest Rage update. I downloaded it and installed it correctly (I think) last night. I went to boot up the game and all seemed to be working as normal. However once I got to the screen where it says loading story mode with rage plugin hook it never loads. It stays on that for 15 minutes or more (gave up after 15 minutes). I ran albos troubleshooter and didn't have any problems according to that. I'm on mobile so I can't attach any logs currently. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks so much!

Did you also update everything else in your game?  Other mods, plugins, update.rpf, etc?

I didn't update any of my other mods such as traffic policer or arrest manager. I did update albocommon or whatever it's called. I'm not familiar with update.rpf what is that? I didn't think that plugins/mods would prevent the entire game from loading but that's a possibility.

When updating your game, it's strongly advised to remove all your mods.  Do me a favor, please, temporarily rename your mods folder to something else - this will prevent your mods folder from being used.  Load into your game via Rage and see if it works now.

Let me go boot up the computer and give this a shot.

Take your time, I'm in no rush. :)

That did the trick!! I was able to actually launch into the game. What should I do in order to get all the mods and stuff working again? Just update them one by one?

Yes, or redo your mods folder.  Your mods folder has no bearings on plugins such as Traffic Policer, Arrest Manager, etc.  They should still be updated, but they aren't the cause.  Something in your mods folder is conflicting.  My best guess is that the update.rpf in your mods folder was not updated.

To fix this,

Open your Grand Theft Auto V folder.  Go into your update folder.  Right click update.rpf-->copy.    Next, go into your mods folder, go into update, and delete the update.rpf that is there.  Right click in the update folder, and paste.  This should fix the problem.
