GTAV won't play Offline? Seriously?

Featured Replies

Hello, I am deployed overseas. I have sparse internet and usually have to walk to a Rec center to find a connection (My current camp has no wifi at all). I downloaded GTA5 on steam summer sale before I moved camps with the impression I could freely launch and play the story mode and LSPDFR without needing a connection. However, after doing a shut down and reboot a few days later, GTAV will not launch. I launch via Rage Hook, then the Rockstar Social Club launcher pops up with the message listed in the first pic below. I click "Offline Mode" and then it still pops up with an error saying "Failed to connect with Rockstar severs" (Second Pic), and it won't launch the game.. I logged in initially when I downloaded the game and I made sure to click the "Keep me signed in" tab.. I am not really sure why the launcher still trys to connect to something when I am trying to launch the game in OFFLINE mode. Am I missing something? Maybe you guys can offer some solutions. Thanks.

EDIT: I entered "-scOfflineOnly" into the CommandLine text file, but it doesn't seem to have any effect..

I believe that the first time you launch gta, you must be connected to wifi. But I'm not completely sure.
