So i installed ELS and some ELS cars and nothing is working. All the files are in the right spot, ie the .xml files in the  pack default folder etc. No lights will work except the brake lights and i have no control over the siren unless i hit the joystick to activate the regular one.

 

I have wiped my GTA folder from Everything, including LSPDFR, hoping that someone can tell me how to install ELS properly as apparently what i did was wrong

1) Did you rename the XML that came with the cars to match the car file name?

 

2) Are you positive the model is an ELS car?

The XML is one that came with the car and its the same name as the ytf files or whatever it is.

 

And yes they are ELS models as it says right in the title of the car. I also downloaded a county based pack that even say to put the xml files in the els folder so i know they are els models haha

Just had to be sure. :P  Some people think that all cars, even the ones before ELS was released, will work with ELS.

 

Can you post screenshots of your GTA V directory, including the ELS VCF folder?

In your ELS folder, did you create a new VCF folder, or do you only have pack default?

Got that pic for you. And only the pack default. None of then said to create a new folder and to put it in the pack default folder

In game, when you press J, does it do anything, make any noise?  Also, if you have scroll lock on your keyboard, press it once. If you hear a noise, ELS should now be enabled.

This is the car pack i downloaded. They spawn in fine

So i pressed scroll lock and a noise was made. There is also a little red warning saying els key lock on - press scroll lock to disable, but when i press j, k, l, r, t, & g nothing happens

Are you on the very latest ELS, or did you install a previous version?

Im on 1.05 which is the latest on LSPDFR

My bad. I WAS on 1.00 but i updated to 1.05 and nothing changed

I installed it after i took those photos because my trainer wasnt working. I have the .dll and the text document aswell

And ELS is still not working?  Try uninstalling ELS, and then installing it again.

I apologize, I don't recall off the top of my head what folder I mentioned.  Make sure you check out the ELS documentation that is included in the download.  It's very helpful and tells you how to install and mess with it.

For some reason its working now. Just the lights look like shit haha. What mod should i install to fix it? Do you use a certain one?

Before you consider graphics mods, make sure your postfx (in GTA settings) is set to high or ultra.  It's actually your choice, as the light enhancer I added made them too bright, so I edited my visualsettings to lower them slightly.   You can either install some sort of graphics mod, or you can make the necessary changes yourself.  Fair warning, the latter option will require you to go into OpenIV and mess around with visualsettings.dat.  If you're not comfortable doing this, I recommend RadianceV.
