ELS Not Working

Featured Replies

I've been working on installing LSPDFR and other mods for the first time.  I followed Albo's tutorials and so far I have managed to get everything working except ELS.  I followed the steps and I'm using two different ELS cars in the police and police4 slots.  The cars work great but ELS does nothing.  J key doesn't turn anything on.  I've even assigned it to other keys and it does nothing.  Ctrl-P does not open the ELS panel.  The only was I can get any emergency lighting or sirens to work is by clicking the left joystick on my controller.  The tail lights wig wag and the siren is on.  That is all.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling ELS twice.  The first time I ended up having zero lights or siren working.  The second time I am back to the original problem.  I researched other ELS support topics but didn't find anyone with the same problem as me.  Any ideas?

Make sure the cars you installed are actually ELS enabled cars.  Either the title of the file will say (ELS), or in the file's description.

Also make sure you put the VCF XMLs in the VCF folder.

I figured it out.  I was missing the AdvancedHookV.dll from my game folder.  Thanks for the help though.

I am having the same issue as you. I followed Albo's tutorial and even installed the SAME vehicle the SAME way he did and my ELS lights aren't working. I have the AdvancedHookV.dll file in my game folder so I'm just wondering where the discrepancy is.

Do you have Norton Antivirus?  I found out that my Norton was blocking/removing/quarantining my AdvancedHookV.dll file.  I had to reinstall it in the GTAV folder and right click it.  I opened File Insight and trusted/restored it.  Once I did that the ELS has worked fine.  I got ELS and the majority of my mods working now.  It's certainly been a lot of work installing the mods and getting them to work properly.  Let me know how it goes for you.  I'll help you if I can.  Good luck!
