Well as I expected it didn't  take long for me to screw something up, I'm getting "Err_GEN_INVALID" which I take it is a general error that whose cause is not defined. I I just don't know what I screwed up, the last thing I installed was OpenIV and  Modding DLC Pack V 1.1 before that was a few mods but nothing that alters the game much.   I tried running in Safe Mode but same error,  I ran GTAVlancher with verify files in CMD prompt like they tell you it checks but no joy,  All  I got is this in the log "Game exited with code 0x80000003" So I guess I either do a reinstall or try to figure out where I screwed up, any other suggestions would be helpful.

Update I figured out how to search the forum and found a similar post that had the same problem I replaced the update.rpf file and it's working now, but I would like to know if it was OpenIV that caused it like it did for them or something else? Here is what their post said but when I want to update via Open IV launch my game... I w" I think the Improved Spotlight and LED was the problem for them.

...an error message is displayed "ERR_GEN_INVALID " I finally found the problem was to file Update.rpf specifically the old version of this mod" I will post a link to the post if that's allowed.

I have the exact same problem.

Maybe it is a dumb question and i am a complete noob but what did you replace the update.rpf with?

It's not a dumb question, I was once a noob too to GTA, I got the latest patch off a patch site not sure where, just search the for latest GTA V Patch and you should find it, it will be a  zip file with the update in it, should be good to go after that. Good luck.
