Hi guys,

 

I'm hoping someone on here will be able to help me, basically I've been playing lspdfr for the past month or so and one day went to play it and since then has been stuck on the garage loading screen when trying to go on patrol I believe its probably something I have maybe deleted or I may have installed something wrong as its constantly trying to load and goes no further.

 

I'm unsure which screen shots I would need to attach as I'm new to all this so any help would be greatly appreciated, I have also reinstalled gta and its still got the same problem .

For starters, please go back to everything you've downloaded and read the readmes.  You have things installed in the wrong spot.  Police Radio should not be in the main directory.  The s_m_y_cop files should not be there, either.

are you able to tell me which things are wrong or is that something ill need to do myself because as I say I'm still learning about it all and have done the read me files but obviously not properly

The Police Radio INI and.dll goes in your Plugins-->LSPDFR folder.

 

Police Radio folder goes into LSPDFR-->Police Scanner.

 

The s_m_y cop files require use of OpenIV to edit game files.

I really appreciate your help ive done the 3 things you have highlighted and gone through the read me files of the things I believe I have installed but the trouble I am having is that I have installed too many mods and sort of lost track of what I have and haven't installed.

 

I also believe I may have deleted a file in open iv when installing a car and believe this may be the cause as to why its not loading but I could be wrong is there a way of finding out what the error is when trying to load it up.

If you use a lot of mods, I strongly advise doing what I did and create a notepad listing all mods you have installed.  This way, if you ever have to redo your game, you have the links right there.

 

If you used a mods folder, you can just remake it and this time carefully change the car.

 

I think that's probably a good idea I thought being my first time playing I probably got a bit carried away with putting mods into the game and kind lost track, i think it may be worth deleting everything gta related on my pc and starting completely fresh again and actually keeping track of what i have used in the game

You can do that if you want to, but if you want to try and troubleshoot this issue, let me know.

Hi,

After deleting the mods folder it seems to have worked and the garage has loaded so i think its just gunna be a case of finding the mods I've put in which i don't want i need to get rid of and only have the stuff i want in the game and make a list of what I have put in the game.

With car mods is it just a case of deleting the file on open iv or can you not do that ?

With car mods, you don't need to delete the files you're replacing.  The only time you'll want to delete them is if you found a new car you want to use instead of your current model.  When adding them, just go to your latest patchday and place the files there.  That's all you need to do. 

 

If I may offer some advice, only put two mods in at a time.  Go in game, verify the game is working as intended.  Then continue adding mods two at a time.  This is what I always do.  Adding them in groups increases the chances of something breaking, and you don't know for sure what is the issue because you installed so many at once.

Ok thanks again for your help its really appreciated, as stupid as this may sound how do I know which patchday is the latest one I have ?

They are listed in numerical order. :) For me, the very latest patchday is patchday12ng.  Also note, not all patchdays will have a vehicles.rpf.  If your latest patchday doesn't have one, look at the one before it.  That will also work.

ok thank you . one last thing ive just put in a els enabled car but the els isn't working is this possibly to do with the fact I deleted my mods folder if so shall I reinstall it

Your vehicle has to be ELS enabled.  Now, all vehicles work with ELS, but cars that weren't built specifically for ELS won't be able to change light patterns. 

 

Check your VCF folder, and make sure you have the VCF file for the vehicle you're trying to use it with.

Is that the vcf under pack_default because the only one I have in there is sample vcf

Yes it is.  If you have non ELS cars, right click the sample VCF, copy, and right click your desktop, paste.  Next, rename it to whatever your non ELS car is, and drag and drop back to your pack_default.  You will need to go into this VCF and edit it so it doesn't utilize the extras.  Otherwise, once you have the lights and sirens going, the extras will flash.

 

Also, in the XML, look for this line:  <LstgActivationType>

 

Make sure that is set to Auto.  This will make it so that all the lights turn on with one click, instead of separate light stages.
