NYPD Family Day 2016

Featured Replies

Yesterday (December 3rd) was family day in the NYPD and it was amazing. There were activities for the whole family. And of course my favorite part was the vehicles. Mainly specialty vehicles which makes sense. They had the P.A.D.T. (Police Academy Driver Training Unit). The instructor explained that the primary vehicle the department is purchasing is going to be the Ford Police Interceptor Utility with very few Tauruses and no more Crown Victorias or Implalas. Apparently the cost of a FPIU is $66,000! They have installed bullet proof panels in the doors and windows and have redesigned the prisoner restraint system.  I have included a link to a video I made with all pictures taken by me of the event. I can't wait for the next one! Oh and one funny thing was they had a FDNY recruit van and table set up.
