GTA V Response Videos & LSPDFR Patrol Videos - Another Aussie

Featured Replies

G'day everyone,

Been lurking for a long time but recently became quite a bit more active on the Aussie thread and over the last few months I've been stockpiling videos that I've smashed out this last week... and you can probably expect a few more over the coming weeks as I catch up on the post-production stuff (look at me, using movie talk!).  I do have my fingers in all the pies around here as well, with those of you that trawl the back pages of the scripting showroom forum probably seeing a very old thread where I've been working on a callout pack - yes, that's still in the works however I've recently farmed it out to a friend who will be doing all the hard part (scripting) and I'll just be feeding him the actual 'storylines' to the callouts. I'll update the thread as soon as I actually have something valuable to share and we'll keep this one for the response and patrol videos!

So, with the intro out of the way, I do two types of GTA 5 videos - one is a response video, which consists of audio from actual emergency calls and me coordinating a response. These are very time consuming and involve setting up scenes, recording, re-recording and often re-re-recording the responses so I can mash it all together in a montage style response. Then I sit and think up music for the intro and close, do some research into the incident (where needed) to give a result aaand smash the audio in there.  They're unique; I don't think I've actually seen anyone else do them and as much hard work as it is getting them together, I am actually really proud of the result in most cases.  I did quite a few for GTA IV and I kicked off the GTA V ones with my absolute favorite to date, response to a kid who screwed up a bike jump:

(be mindful that these do contain actual audio from emergency calls. The warning on the video is not just for show, it can be distressing)

More recently, I've managed to get another one made, the response to a party-goer who got stoned/drunk and fell off a cliff:

I do plan to get more done in the near future and I'll try edit this post, otherwise I'll whack them in new posts at the end, or both!  If you liked these, I also did a number of them for GTA IV so check out my channel for them and remember - at the time - they were so much more impressive because I actually shut the game down, loaded new sirens, restarted the game, reset the scene as best I could and everything just to get some authenticity in the responses (different vehicles having different sirens and all)... which is moot now because of the amazing stuff we can do in GTA V. I've also learnt to edit the audio a lot better so I've 'remastered' the calls, moving the call audio around to fit the response better and in the case of the newest one, gave the operator a few totally new lines of dialogue that you probably won't even are chunks cut from the other dialogue and put together again.

Moving on from the response videos, I've also started doing - and really enjoying - LSPDFR patrol videos. Everyone seems to be doing these and there's a ton of other Aussie's doing them too (we're starting to outnumber the American ones!), so I can't say how long they'll last, especially with my work schedule keeping me from releasing on a regular basis, but I figure I'll show them off just the same.  I think I do them a bit different to everyone else, mostly because I don't have enough of an attention span to just stay 'in character', so it's very arcade-y. Either way, I hope you like them, if not, I do have an idea of what I want to replace these with and it's another unique one. I'll check out its feasability before I say too much about it but if you have a watch of the more recent patrol videos, I chat about it a bit.

Without further ado, LSPDFR Patrol videos are below!
