Point me in the right direction? Pretty Please!

I downloaded a truck mod I really desperately wanted, and found that I cannot switch the wheels. I really want to be able to change them at least with a trainer or permanently with zmodeler if needed. I have googled like hell and cannot find any good pointers. I got zmodeler but cannot seem to import the gta files. I came across the info that a plugin was added and they said it was part of the DL, but I am failing hard at using it. I would also like to add the ability to change the color. I am willing to do the work myself, I am willing to learn how to make a new texture for the model if need be. In terms of stealing, well the model was converted from another game, one that I also own so I don't think anyone should be offended by me making a mod of it for personal use. Can anyone point me in the right direction? My priority at the moment is Wheels>Paint\texture.

I found the import, but its not bringing the model in.
