[Request] Death Investigations (Callouts)

Recommended Posts

I have looked around and I'v seen some others who are interested in more "detective" callouts. While there are some that you have to do some investigations, there really isn't any that goes into detail. While there are a few homicide callouts, they are usually quick, and do not require a lot of investigation. Seeing some of the new callouts, mainly the ones where you have a box of things you can say, that influence the way the callout is going to head. I will list some callouts for these, not sure if some would be possible or not as I do not have any skill in coding/modding LSPDFR.

Possible Homicide Scenario

Spoiler

A homicide has been reported, a dead person has been found in an alleyway, or on a sidewalk. A few police cars will be on scene, with a few officers. One of the officers will be the first on scene, who you can speak to for details. You can ask the officer questions, such as, "What do we have here", he will explain a dead male/female, with either trauma to the head, gun shot wound, or knife stabbing. You could also ask him questions such as, "Do we have any witnesses", he will point you to a witness. Another question would be to the officer if he saw anything on his way here, he could say he saw a vehicle driving over the speed limit when he was on his way here, or he saw nothing. Next you could question the witness, and ask for what all they saw. They may report a brief description of the man/woman, or a brief vehicle description. The final person you can speak to is the coroner. As players wouldn't want to have to drive all the way to the morgue in south Los Santos, he will provide details on an autopsy. This will include the time of death, cause of death, and a murder weapon. The coroner may also be able to provide DNA samples, from hair, blood (Victim may have scratched them in self defense), fibers from clothes, and finger prints. Once you have all the information done, you can talk to the first officer on scene and let him know you're done here. Next part will come to finding a possible suspect in the crime based on the responses above. Few situations for this:

1. You got lucky, the sample the coroner was able to gain from DNA, matches with a person who has been convicted in the past for a crime. A car the suspect owned was spotted last in a general area, and the suspect is known to drive there frequently. You will get the suspects name, the type of car they drive, color of that car, and a license plate.

2. An officer noticed a vehicle that matches the one the witness, or first officer on scene described. The driver may or may not have been involved in the crime. You will need to perform a traffic stop and question them on their where a bouts, and relation to victim. Also you will get text when you approach the car, saying you see a possible weapon through the window (Plain view, so this can be used in court), it will pick a random weapon, or the weapon the coroner described earlier. OR they may flee, once you stop them, they may either admit to it and you will go to court here (Follow example 1 on how this would work, although you would get more charges here), or they may say they're running for another reason, and you will have to question them at the station once you finished all other leads (To keep it simple, if they run the weapon will always match one in the crime). If the weapon is same weapon in the crime, you may send them to station to question.

3. A person matching the witness description, was spotted walking on a side walk by another officer. Once again, they may or may not have been involved, you will get similar questions from 2 for this one. You may also pat them down for weapons, and it may give you a weapon, this could or might not be the type used to kill them, depends on what the coroner found to be the weapon. Although if callout determines this to be the killer, it will always say they had a weapon on them that the coroner told you was used. You may send them to the station for further question is weapon matches

4. A family member of the victim informed police that the victim was last with blank. They may or may not have been involved, another officer has brought them to the station for questioning. The officer found a weapon, (may or may not match, if callout decides they did it, then it will be same)

Once you have collected all suspects, now you must interrogate them. At the downtown police station, you can talk to another officer, who will set up an interrogation with the suspect you want to see first. (Which ever you pick, will be who spawns in the room). The room for the interrogation can be one of the spare empty rooms that you can walk in the police station. Once inside, you will be able to talk to the suspect using the menu and pick what you want to ask them. Questions would be depending on which NPC. You also might not have all the NPC's, it will be based off chance if you get either 2-4 suspects. NOTE before the interrogations, you will get evidence that can help you exclude or include some of the suspects, based off what the coroner found. For example, "Suspect 2 from the vehicle was found with claw marks" or "Suspect 2's fingerprints match on the victim", or "Suspect 2's DNA matches the one from the victim (This will only appear if there is no DNA suspect). Also for suspect 3 the one from the witness, the witness will say that is the same person from the crime scene. Blood may or may not be found on any of the weapons for all suspects, but blood will be found on the weapon from the suspect who did commit the crime always.

Example 1. DNA evidence suspect

Spoiler

1. Do you know the victim? (Keeping it simple for coding, victims name will be assumed)

- They will either say yes or no

2. Where were you at the time of the crime? (Once again keeping it simple for coding, assuming they will know the time of the crime)

- They will give some examples, of course they may be lying. You will get a text saying after they give their response, "Suspect is fidgeting alot, they're speaking nervously, or they have their legs cross, hands in their lap with legs closed,(Some people will protect their privates when they have something to hide, not always, but it is a possibility)" The responses will help indicate if they're lying or telling the truth.

3. What all did you do today, and who all were you with?

- They will give a short story, such as, "I was at work, then I went back home", "I went with the victim to eat earlier, then they left, I went to the park, then I went back home", or a different response, as this is just an example. You will also get hints based off body language, such as the example in number 2

4. We found your DNA on the victim, do you have any idea how that got on them?

- They're responses will vary on a percent chance, they may... confess, ask for an attorney (If they do this, you can no longer question them, you will only have 2 options, to charge them, or not to charge them),or they may say depending on what their response in 3 was, that they were with the victim earlier. (If you ask this before 3, 3 will be the same as this). You will also get hints based off body language, such as the example in number 2

5. Did you kill the victim? We have DNA evidence from the victim, that links you to the crime.

- They may confess here (yes), ask for attorney as stated above with what you can do after this, or they may say no

6. *Press the suspect* - If you believe they are lying, and you have evidence that can prove they committed the crime, and they denied questions earlier

- The suspect will either break, and confess, or he will ask for an attorney (Same thing above on options to do after this)

7. *Charge the suspect with the crime*

- You will go to the court similar to the drug runners callout, and it will say, "Officer (name), collected DNA evidence, (Confession if they confessed). As well as witness statements proving the suspect guilty of murder, suspect got 25 years-life depending on how much evidence you collected against them. If he is innocent, it will say they were not convicted, and the crime remains unsolved.

8. *Let suspect go*

- If they did not do this crime, you may question another suspect, or if they did do the crime, you will fail the callout with crime remains unsolved.

Example 2. Vehicle Suspect

Spoiler

1. Do you know the victim? (Keeping it simple for coding, victims name will be assumed)

- They will give same response for when you stopped them earlier (unless they ran, then follow format above)

- They will give same response for when you stopped them earlier (unless they ran, then follow format above)

4. A weapon was found in the car, we can match it with the one at the crime scene (You can ask this if it dosn't, so be careful!)

- They will either confess here, ask for an attorney (You cannot question them anymore, but you may charge them still), or they will try to make up an excuse, watch for body language again it will say what they're doing, unless you lied and said it did then they're response may be legit

5. Did you kill the victim? We can match the weapon to the one at the scene of the crime

If he is innocent, it will say they were not convicted, and the crime remains unsolved.

8. *Let suspect go*

- If they did not do this crime, you may question another suspect, or if they did do the crime, you will fail the callout with crime remains unsolved.

Example 3. Suspect on Foot

Spoiler

1. Do you know the victim? (Keeping it simple for coding, victims name will be assumed)

- They will either say yes or no

2. A witness saw you leave the scene of the crime, and positively identified you

- They will either confess if it was them, or make up an excuse, body language may also point against them

3. The weapon matches the one which killed the victim, can you explain this (You can ask this if it dosn't, so be careful!)

- They will either confess, make up an excuse which you will be given body language which may point against them, or they will ask for an attorney, unless you lied and said it did then they're response may be legit

4. Did you kill the victim? We can match the weapon to the one at the scene of the crime

- They may confess here (yes), ask for attorney as stated above with what you can do after this, or they may say no

5. *Press the suspect* - If you believe they are lying, and you have evidence that can prove they committed the crime, and they denied questions earlier

7. *Let suspect go*

- If they did not do this crime, you may question another suspect, or if they did do the crime, you will fail the callout with crime remains unsolved.

4. Last seen suspect with victim

Spoiler

1. What was the last time you saw the victim?

- They may make up an excuse, if lying body language will help point against this

2. The weapon we found on you matches the one in the killing (You can ask this if it dosn't, so be careful!)

- They may confess here, or ask for an attorney as the other ones, or they may try to lie, and will give indicators for lying, unless you lied and said it did then they're response may be legit

3. Did you kill the victim?

- They may confess here (yes), ask for attorney as stated above with what you can do after this, or they may say no

4. *Press the suspect* - If you believe they are lying, and you have evidence that can prove they committed the crime, and they denied questions earlier

6. *Let suspect go*

- If they did not do this crime, you may question another suspect, or if they did do the crime, you will fail the callout with crime remains unsolved.

Now this would be a longer callout, and much more in depth. The callout will pick who the killer was once you accept it, and it will add 1-3 more random suspects based off examples from above who are innocent. Also of course this would be complicated, but I would love to see something like this in game. I have no experience in coding as I stated above, so while it may be possible, I do understand if its to complicated to code, or to many variables. Although of course, this is my suggestion, so a modder could change it a lot, to have the same based idea that would work. Let me know on your thoughts, or further ideas to this. I have a few other ideas, but before listing them, I believe a callout like this should be made, so I can work my idea to how the modder got the callout to work. So it would work with the changed idea.

- Thanks for taking the time to read this, I know it is a lot!
