Game crashing...not really sure what to do

Featured Replies

I'm new to LCPDFR (actually, today is my first day trying it) and I am not sure how to fix the problem I am having. So, I have the steam version 617 and I have installed the newest Rage Plugin along with LSPDFR and everything was working well. Then, i decided to try some of the mods and thats when the game started crashing. I have tried searching the other posts to try to fix this myself, but im having trouble understanding alot of the jargon. I have added my GTA plugins directory. I also added the error log i got from Rage.

Are you sure you installed some of those mods in the right places?  My arrest manager files, traffic policer files and realistic alpr files are not there, but in the lspdfr folder within that plugins folder.  I would check the readme files on each of them to make sure.

Actually, the readme files were not consistent. Some seemed to say in the plugins folder and some seemed to say in a LSPDFR folder within the plugins folder. When everything was working fine, all those plugins were NOT in a LSPDFR folder, but they also did not seem to work in game. The screenshot you see is after i created the LSPDFR folder and put the plugins in there as well and then seeing the game crash.

Some go into the plugins folder, and some have to go into the plugin/lspdfr folder. Each mod is different with where you put it. I just looked up the safer chases mod, and that goes into the plugin/lspdfr folder.   If there is no readme with the download, they usually have instructions from where you got it from.

Oh, I see. I assumed that all mods go in one place. Well, I will go back and work out which mods go where then. Thanks for the help.

I moved the mods to where they were supposed to go but the game is still crashing. I did post the error log i got. If someone can decipher it for me, I would appreciate it.

The troubleshooter tool did not help. It told me I needed to move a file somewhere and that file was already there. Is there anything else I can do?

Ok, since you moved things around, lets try posting a screenie of your gta5 route directory, as well as your plugins directory, and your plugins/lspdfr directory.  Would like to see all 3 and maybe I can compare.

Every thing looks good to me, however I don't have the callout 3, arrest warrant callout or the secondary callouts.  It could be one of those 3.  I am going to try installing one of them one at a time now and see if I get crashes.

ok, I have now installed everything you have, and the many, many other mods I have, and I am loading up fine. (minus some graphic issues from something you don't have, but working on that.)

Only things I havn't seen is your root directory lspdfr/police scanner folder, as some of those mods needs to have things dropped into them, but I am sure you have done that.

You mentioned the troubleshooter asked you to move a file.  Which file did it ask you to move, from where, to where?

When you load up the game, where does it exactly crash?  There are many load up screens, which one it crashes on might help.

The only main difference with your route folder then mine, is I have a mods folder, which I don't think you will need now unless you tried to install vehicles or ped skins.

One other thing I can suggest, since you moved all those files around, reinstall RPH 0.36 and run it again and let it go through its testing process.

After that, reinstall the scripthookv.dll

I believe my police scanner folder should be ok.

The troubleshooter asks me to place Traffic Policer.dll in the Grand Theft Auto V/Plugins/LSPDFR folder, but it is already there. I even clicked to automatically fix this error, but I dont think that did anything.

Actually, I just turned on my game and it seems to be working now. I have at least one plugin (ALPR i think) running. I dont know what I did but I think I'm ok now. I will mess around a bit and see if I crash again.

Thanks for the help guys!
