Massive Frame Rate Drop during Protection Squad callout

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I'm getting a huge frame rate drop from 60 fps on the highest GTA 5 settings down like 15 fps when I accept a Protection Squad callout mission.  Then as I'm traveling to the location, when I get there, it hard crashes the game.  I'm assuming based on the reviews that other people aren't having issues with Protection Squad so I'm not sure what's going on.

My PC specs are:

  • i5-6600k 3.5ghz Skylake overclocked to 4.6ghz stable
  • 16GB RAM
  • MSI GTX 970 video card
  • Asus Z170-Pro motherboard
  • Samsung 250GB EVO SSD drive

I can run the game on highest settings and with all my other plugins it never has a framerate drop except for this one.

My plugins are:

  • Arrest Manager
  • Traffic Policer
  • Police Radio
  • Breathalyzer
  • Emergency Strobes
  • Foot Pursuit
  • Law Enforcement Jurisdiction
  • More Control V
  • Ped Search and Vehichle Search - both with More Items
  • Speed Radar
  • Spotlight
  • Traffic Control
  • Safer Chases

My callouts are:

  • Arrest Warrant Callouts
  • Assorted Callouts
  • Code 3 Callouts
  • Crazy Callouts
  • Federal Callouts
  • Secondary Callouts
  • Agency Callouts
  • Protection Squad - everything was fine until this

Here is the log:

I'm actually curious now if Protection Squad is conflicting with Safer Chases because Protection Squad is a "convoy" or "motorcade" type plugin so to speak and the Safer Chases plugin uses the code to ensure "authority type vehicles" stay within a certain guidelines.

I might try temporarily removing Safer Chases and see if Protection Squad runs ok.

Does anyone else use Protection Squad without problems when any of the mission callouts are given?  Also, are you using Safer Chases and Protection Squad?

Thanks.

Try  to remove Safer Chases. My spec I5 4690k, gtx 960 4gb, 12 gb ram i have huge FPS drop with Safer Chases..No problem with Protection Squad.

So do you just run Safer Chases with some of the settings turned off or did you remove it alltogether?

Ok so something isn't right.  I reinstalled GTA5 and ONLY installed LSPDFR, Scripthook, ScripthookDOTNET, and the ONLY plugin I installed this time was the LS Protection Squad.  I have 60 fps when I load in and it doesn't matter if I go to a police station and go on duty that way or if I do the Spacebar + F9 way.  Whenever I take a Protection callout mission, about 5 seconds after I accept it, my FPS goes from 60 slowly down to 10 fps and just sits around 10.

I even turned my graphics settings down to Normal and it's the same thing.

I noticed that the plugin was updated yesterday, and I'm wondering if the people that don't have an issue with this plugin is cause they're still using an older version of it, not the one that was updated yesterday.

Shouldn't be any reason why I only have one plugin installed and my frames drop from 60 to 10 after starting the mission.

Joe, I have same issues as you and think you are right about the version.  FPS drops and game crashes.

Real shame!  Is there a link to the older version kicking around anywhere to keep things running until fixed?

Thanks

Nope, I was looking for an older version as well but didn't see one.
