Lower the graphics settings all the way.

I almost want to cry in anger every time someone says they want to play GTAIV on a laptop and then wonder why it doesn't work.

@Marine831 You had me laughing man, I got a Hp pavilion dv6-6135dx laptop with a index rating of 5.9. My gaming graphics rating is 6.2 and the processor rating is 6.7. I have learned that a laptop is not the best way to go if you plan on gaming but mine can handle some heavy demanding games kind of well. I'm playing Skyrim with Enb with fps ranging from 24 to 40, I can't belive that my laptop can run this game with Enb. Enb does not do well on a mobility gpu, it's gonna lagg like crazy with only 10 fps. I tried it with GTAIV and cried!!, I can't stop crying, lol. You and me have to upgrade to a desktop with a i7 processor with a Nvidia Gtx 680. I can't wait to get my Gtx 680.

Yeah I try to it doesn't let e edit the graphic settings once its booted up

Since GTAIV will pretty much eat any resource your computer has, my opinion, get a custom built PC not an already built one, trust me on that. for what you could pay for an already built one with MINIMUM requirement's, you could spent the same amount on seperate computer part's,build it yourself, know what your getting before it's installed and still have a way better gaming experience, after all upgrade i spent around $900.00 Canadian for my rig.

My PC is a 5.9 too. But The e9220y is easily the most overpriced piece of outdated crap you can possibly buy on the market. I have a desktop, I'm upgrading to an AMD FX 4170 (4.3 ghz) and a Radeon HD 6850. Right now my HD 4350 and my Phenom II 910 are struggling to handle GTA on 20 FPS, but my upgrades will eat up any settings GTA can throw at it, with ENB maxed out :) Going from a 2.6ghz CPU to a 4.3ghz CPU is gonna be awesome.

@Marine, a Sapphire Radeon6790 is a pretty decent upgrade for not even 200, i have nothing but good things to say.

Since the 6850 is the next series, I would think it has some more improvements. It's only $150 and can eat up any game.
