Looks pretty darn good to me. I'd only change the motherboard as I'm not sure how reliable that exact board is or how well it is for overclocking, but I have an MSI board and I LOVE it. You shouldn't worry about it though, just a personal preference.

Actually, I have no idea how much you're getting that case for, but if you get something cheaper (like an NZXT S340, beautiful case), then you might be able to get a slightly better motherboard. Unless you really like the case, then that's alright.

I'm running the same GPU, and it's a beauty. I've yet to encounter any issues with it in terms of gameplay, or heat. However, as others have said, ensure that you have adequate airflow through the case to make sure that hot air isnt building up inside.

I use the Z97-AR with i7 4790k, 16gb of ram, and a 970 gtx, I have zero issues since build but has only been about 4 months now. I get around 60-70 fps steady in GTA5 with ultra settings mostly and even in a heavily modded GTA 4 I don't drop below 45ish even in heavy traffic with high settings. Games like Unity and Witcher 3 also run very smooth all ultra settings. Even if settle on the i5 your build will be great.
