Help! Booting new SSD

Featured Replies

Hey so I just upgraded to Windows 8.1 from 7 on my current HDD

I have made a clone onto a formatted external HDD.

I bought a new SSD

I'm wanting to put this baby to use but there seems to only be one available port for either HDD or SSD in my laptop (even though there is a little bay area for another drive...) anyway

I'm trying to figure out how to get the ssd to be able to boot up w8

What I'm thinking is. Make the hdd an exact clone. Boot up with ssd in replacement of old hdd

Begins to boot up, gets to I'd say the log in screen then gives me a blue screen with a frowning face... :(

Then restarts immediately.

Any ideas what I could be doing wrong

Sorry for lack of info. I'm exhausted from trying to figure out what I'm doing haha
