How do you know is the car is els v8 if it doesn't say like this taurus in the link hope this isn't a dumb question

is says els but not what version

 

I would assume ELS 6 or ELS 7 judging from the date it was last modified which means most likely it is not ELS8 compatible Youd have to look through the user manual for specfics but if tis ELS v7 there should be a way to convert it to ELS 8 maps if u have acces to source coding
