Siren and Airhorn problem

Featured Replies

Hey guys, last night i decided to make my own sirens using audacity.

The sound files turned out fine and siren 1 and 2, but when I try adding the third police siren which is police_warning I get a funny noise. I've installed the sirens using GTA-IVaud editor, the siren sounds fine in the editor but in-game it's really weird. same problem with the airhorn.

here is my Youtube link

Also how do I turn up my siren volume?

Any help would be appreciated.

I would guess either the sound file is too large or it's not encoded properly. Make sure it's saved in the correct .wav format and it's not too large. If you can't get it working you can always send me them and I'll sort it for you.

Someone is throwing you with sticks and bolts... from the sound of it.

Anyways, the problem is your sounds are too long, the max for a wail is 5-6 sec but no higher, yelp is 2 sec and phazer is about 2 sec depending on the sound. Try to keep them as short as possible.

Wow i feel like such an idiot.

I only imported the sirens into the game at the start, so the sirens were still the same while I thought i changed them.

Imported the new ones in and everything is fine :)

One thing though, the sirens are really quiet anyway I can make them louder?

Cheers for the help guys
