RC2R2 Tazer Problems

Featured Replies

Hi all, I am having a problem with the tazer I have run the installer and the game as an admin and it doesn't work. I didn't appear to get any error messages in the install either (I just got a couple or backup already exists messages) when I press ALT - T nothing happens at all, the other mod features seem to be working ok though.

Cheers for any help you can give.

Hmmm,

1) Download it again

2) Try run in compatibility mode

3) Restart game

4) Run the installer again

Make sure your data folder and the files inside aren't read only when you install it.

... Make sure the 'Install LCPDFR Taser' checkbox is checked.

and make sure you're not using the old installer.

1) Download it again: Done

2) Try run in compatibility mode: Not done but installed as an admin and game ran as admin

3) Restart game: Done for all reinstalls of the mod

4) Run the installer again: Done with the redownloads I did

Will try compat mode tomorrow now as I have shut PC down for the night.

The tazer still isnt working after trying the above suggestions, however I have noticed when I press ALT-T or even some other letters the game minimizes. Has anyone had this issuse before and could it be related to the tazer not working?

Nah I am pressing ALT - T, another thing I noticed is that LCPDFR config file has language set to en-US and I am on en-GB Windows Language settings I am now wondering if this could be an issue.

I doubt it but I'd say it has something more to do with the fact that your game window minimises when you press the keys.

Just some really basic stuff I want to make sure is okay first:

You are going on duty and picking an officer before you try to use the taser, right?

By Alt-T you mean you are holding the (left)Alt key and then pressing the T key while the alt button remains pressed?

Do you have any other mods installed that might conflict?

What if you made the files and folers inside gtaivcommondata not read-only?

I go on duty and pick my officer and vehicle before I try to use the tazer.

I use left Alt and press T while holding the Alt key (I have also tried right when left didn't work)

I was using mods but switched to my steam copy of the game which had no mods installed on it.

I have made them read only.
