Black screen after getting into a car for 2 seconds

I've been having this problem lately where I would enter a car and my screen would just go black without the game actually crashing.

 

I've already tried replacing the following things with the stock backup files

  • vehicles.ide
  • vehicles.img
  • handling.dat

It would be great if someone could help me out with this issue.
