MDC Software

Featured Replies

My explorer post is looking to replace the MDC software we are using on our laptops for note taking.

Before I start going to the shady side of the internet, I was wondering what any law enforcement, heck even civilian members use on their MDC's.

Cost isn't an issue. The department is going to cover it, however, the cheaper the better.

It has to work offline. We use our MDC's to take notes and compile watch reports, not to access a police database. That would be very illegal and pretty unnecessary.

ALEIR is good. It's free too. They have report writing software and CAD software. Check it out:

aleir.com

The downside is it's a little bit confusing to install and takes awhile, but as long as you follow the instructions carefully you'll be fine.

It is also an independent program. Doesn't connect to other computers/servers.

(I'm not advertising I just use ALEIR and decided I'd share it...)
