Let me start by thanking anyone that offers advice and apologizing if I'm posting in the wrong Forum!!I have downloaded GTAIV from my PURCHASED DISC.. 3 times last being 2 days ago all was Code 4...ran into a Police MOD that glitched my screen during game play last night..like a Crack head I did not make a back up for my Police Vehicles files..still learning how to do that,,I use sparkIV >.<..so i decided to do a fresh install this time around Im getting the following error almost at the end of the first disk install: (nice i know waiting around 40minutes to see if it works.) heres the error::

Feature: Grand Theft Auto IV

Component:        GTAIV_Dynamic

File:             D:GTAIVdata2.cab
Error:            Data error (cyclic redundancy check)
I have cleaned the disk witch was not bad at all. few tiny scraths thats it. so buffed it out..by hand not by a buffing machine. still nothing. it pays music CD's (i dont know if that helps..to determine if my CD Rom is still good) however i have tried insatlling3 times now. Could anyone help me out, as to tell me how i can check my disk drive or any other possibilities i might be over looking. The only thing i have not done witch im about to is hit my registry with CC Cleaner then try it. ( i will let ya know how that goes after..just though i would post while im doing that to be ahead of the Game. Thanks Gentleman,, and be safe out there!!
