ELS Not Working

Featured Replies

Hello,

Looking for help with ELS. Stage 1 and Stage 2 lights do not at all, and only for some vehicles does stage 3 work. The stage 3s that incorporate a secondary light bar or traffic advisors only the primary light bar works. All ELS files are installed into the correct folder, I have not changed how I install my vehicles, and I already tried reinstalling ELS and ScriptHookV and there was no change. Any guidance is welcome and appreciated.

There are some vehicles that developers only incorporate one stage of vehicle lighting, sometimes this is just a default, atleast this is what it sounds like to me.

In the ELS file according to the vehicle, ensure the line containing "<LstgActivationType>value</LstgActivationType>" has the value of manual instead of, I believe of which, could be set to automatic. Automatic, or whatever the default is, would result in the vehicle going directly to stage 3 instead of your stage 1 and 2. However again, there is always the possibility that the vehicle developer does not have stage 1-2 lighting for the vehicle, though that is unlikely.

These vehicles' stage 1 and 2 lights worked previously. I made no changes besides 2 firetruck liveries and they stopped working when I loaded up the game afterward. Now the fire truck lights don't work at all, and the police vehicles that previously had stage 1 and 2 only work on stage 3 (despite cycling through 1 and 2) and the secondary lightbars don't work.

would also like to add that I did change out the resident.rpf file to edit the fire siren, however (and I'm not sure about this) I believe the issue started before I swapped out the resident.rpf file.

and can confirm now that the issue was before changing out resident.rpf
