so my game kept getting stuck on the loading screen so I changed my mods folder to say _mods and the game worked so obviously I have a problems with my mods folder. I thought that OpenIV would prompt me to update something but nothing has come up. I hope I don't have to reinstall all my cars and mods in that folder is someone able to help me out?

try and remember what mod you installed recently and uninstall it / revert the meta file, or, I'm afraid you are going to have to restart your mods folder.
Also, if you haven't already, install the required game configs.

Just in the process of adding them now but when I drag and drop the gameconfig into OPENIV it doesn't let me

Make sure edit mode is on.
