Texture loss after updating to 2845

Featured Replies

I finally got around to updating my game to the latest patch (2845) as well as updating LSPDFR. I hesitated to do this for a long time because I didn't want to lose all my mods but I dove in yesterday and did it. I've done everything I need to do. Updated GTA, LSPDFR, Scripthook, gameconfig, update.rpf in mods folder etc. I believe I've managed to get all my mods carried over and reinstalled and the game is running! HURRAY! The only issue I'm running into is that I am getting texture loss in the city. Only in the city nowhere else. I have tried all the hacks, preload models=false, car files under 20 MB, and texture quality set to normal. Graphics settings are balanced and I'm running on an RTX 3070 so I don't think subpar specs are the issue.

I'm wondering if it's not texture loss but rather maybe some texture files are missing since the texture loss is happening in the same spots everytime. I have verified the game files though and it's validated. I did have LA REVO installed. I tried reinstalling thinking maybe it's missing textures from that mod but the oiv installer downgraded my game back so that defeats the purpose of updating plus it kept crashing my game before startup. If anybody has any advice, theories, or fixes please let me know. I'm so close to having a working build that actually runs at a decent FPS. Just need to get past this last texture loss issue.

Hey there,

For note - when updating your mods folder, you don't need to replace update.rpf. So unfortunately all that work with reinstalling could've been avoided!

Only updating update2.rpf is required now.

As for your issue, have you tried installing this? You could give that a try.

Let me know if it helps. 🙂

Hi, thanks for replying. Yes, I tried resource adjuster it did not fix the issue. I did not know that about update.rpf2. I wonder if I can reinstall my old update.rpf from my backup then and see if that fixes anything.

Update: I read somewhere to set Main.DisableMultiplayerMap in LSPDFR ini to True. I did and it fixed my texture loss problem. I was even able to turn all my graphics settings including texture quality back to Very high. My game is running like a champ even with all my plugins going. I don't totally know what this setting does but it fixed the issue. It made it so that I get a weird space view whenever I enter a police station but I couldn't care less about that. I usually use force duty command anyways. Solved!
