How do you get rid of reflective liveries?

Featured Replies

Hi, is it possible to remove reflective liveries? I keep noticing that every reflective liveries-supported cars has 2 textures on it. The first is the default livery_sign and the reflective_livery. I tried changing the livery_sign and deleting the reflective livery but it'll come up messed up. I tried putting my livery on the reflective_livery but when I try to load in-game, the colors won't match or it's messed up. When I try to delete the reflective livery, it'll just mess up the whole textures. Won't even load the livery_sign. Is there a way to fix it? AFAIK you can only edit reflective liveries via ZModeler and since I was not the creator of the pack, I don't have access to it.

Hey there - I see it has been quiet a few months since you posted this......did you get any help, or find a solution otherwise.  I stumbled across your post while searching out more info on making reflective liveries, lol.  Anyhow - I think that rather than simply deleting the "reflective" texture file.........you need to put something back in there.  From what I understand (which isn't very much, mind you!) of model builds and how the texture "dictionary" works, you can't just take out a texture file you don't want - because the model was made with that texture file in place, so it will always look for it......I think?  The exception to that rule would be multiple livery files, the "sign_1, sign_2", etc - you can delete the extra ones you don't want/rename what you do want, as long as there is a "sign_1".

So, what you need to do with the reflective texture - is replace it with a blank or completely transparent file.  Pull it out of the texture dictionary, into your graphics program.  Erase all the images on that file (or just create a new image with matching dimensions), save/overwrite what you pulled out......then drag/drop it back in to OpenIV again.
