ELS/Police lights not working

Featured Replies

Hi so as it states above. My ELS isn't really working by that I mean whenever I enter an addon or dlc police vehicle the usual J key doesn't work when turning on the lights and instead when I press E it turns both lights and sirens on. Aside from that whenever I do turn the lights on they basically don't come on and the only thing that does turn on are the taillights. I've seen many people create a forum about this but anything posted there seems to not work for me unless I did it incorrectly. If I really wanted the lights to come on I would need to go to components in the vehicle menu and turn all of them on there but then they don't off and it's hella bright.

Hey sorry for the late response. I found the issue and it was because I was doing it incorrectly. I didn't install the ELS.xmls through OpenIV but instead the main directory.

ELS XMLs do not need to be installed through OpenIV they can still be installed through the regular file explorer (and in fact that might be recommended) you just need to make sure they are in the right location.
