RAGE Plugin Hook not launching

Featured Replies

I have used RAGE Plugin Hook on my computer before never with an issue like this. I have tried dozens of "solutions" on this forum and others. Anytime I try to open RAGE Plugin Hook it only opens story mode. It does not make a log file or anything. I am able to use the startup settings menu like it was working, but then it just boots me into story mode without RAGE running or any plugins. I tried deleting GTA V and reinstalling a clean game from Steam twice. I have tried running as administrator, disabling Defender completely (it was already exempted from Defender), playing without WIFI. Lots of other solutions as well. I will attach a screenshot of the folder, as no log is created when I try to run RAGE plugin hook. This is a completely clean install from Steam with only the LSPDFR download.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi there,

Have you tried starting up your GTA through Steam, and then booting up your RPH after the game has fully loaded?

Hello, yes I have tried this. I'm not sure if there is a different way to do it, because when I load story mode through the GTA icon and open RAGE, it just says GTA is already running.

I'm not too sure why it might be doing this, but it is certainly odd as to why your RagePluginHook.log doesn't exist. Try creating a text document called RagePluginHook and placing it inside your GTA 5 directory, and try starting RPH from there. Maybe it will work then. let me know if you notice anything different from previous encounters of this error.

I just tried this and there was no change, nothing written inside the text document either. Also to note, I have tried restarting with starter logging but it seems normal to me. Here is the launcher log.RagePluginHookLauncher.log

I can't see any problems with the launcher, but this is only from an amateur perspective.

I would suggest documenting a bug report and sending it off to the RagePluginHook developers at https://discord.com/invite/z8N5P9MCRx - they probably have a bug report or help section in there for GTA RPH somewhere.

Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to help you any further, unless you get a crash notofication from RPh when you boot up your game.

If this happens, please generate a standard bug report, and copy and paste it into a reply.

Okay. I will try that now. Thank you for you help.

Please provide a standard bug report if it allows you to do so, and let me know if anything else happens - I'll continue to provide support as you reply. No surrender! 😁

Here is a video showing this issue:

It seems to be an issue with RPH not hooking to the game.

The best thing I could say here is uninstall your RagePluginHook, restart your computer, and redownload and reinstall RPH. Sometimes I have an issue with things not being downloaded properly because of my PC being slightly glitchy sometimes, so a reboot of your PC then immediately downloading a fresh copy of RPH might help, but I can't guarantee this will solve your problem.

Tried this, no changes. I appreciate your attempts to help. I am open to trying anything if you have other suggestions.

I don't know if it will help, even in the slightest, but it might be a memory issue. Run Windows Memory Diagnostics by typing "Windows Memory Diagnostic" into your search bar in the bottom left, and run the app. It might help, it might not. If your memory isn't the issue, then I'm not sure what it could be.

Sorry I couldn't be of any further assistance.
