Getting Started With LCPDFR - Which Mods, Settings?

Featured Replies

Hey all,

Just getting into this mod and enjoying it so far, but I see all this stuff about a variety of different mods - ELS, etc, that people are talking about. I don't know about any of them, and what I should get for an optimal experience?

And I thought pursuits were in this game... none yet!

Cheers,

- HateDread.

Its really all to your personal liking and preferences. ELS gives a good, realistic flash to the lights on your cruiser, but it also makes the car indestructable, I like ELS, but some people prefer not to use it. Although I do recommend using the Indicator script, which adds turn signals to your car, which adds to the realism. As for the pursuits, when you do a traffic stop, some people will comply, others will to a point, and some will run as soon as you ask them to pull over, They are also randomly strewn throughout the callouts.

Here is a list of the mods I use, not including guns, cars, and sirens:

Indicator Script

Traffic Flow

ELS.

Thanks, buddy. Although it seems the indicator script doesn't work? Seen lots of complaints in the comments on it.

Are there ever any more hardcore incidents? As opposed to just pointing a gun at muggers/suiciders... i.e. shootouts, hostage situations.

Also, what mods do you have, more in terms of guns and cars, that don't require ELS etc?

- HateDread.

EDIT: Do most people play this on a separate save? I don't know how to start a new second game without deleting the first.

Anytime. With the callouts, yes, there are more calls. There are domestic disputes, suicidals, pursuits, drug deals, muggings, shots fired(sometimes a prank call), shoot outs, and I think a few more but I can't remember. As far as I know, there aren't any hostage situations. BUt that may change in the future. I have all the cars except the NOoSE cruiser and the Police Stockade modded with cars, all have ELS though. I also have an ambulance and firetruck modded with ELS too. The guns that I have, hmmm, I think I have a SWAT pack that I got from another GTA Modding site, forgot the name, and a G36 from the same site. All the cars that I have and plan to get are ELS, but there are plenty of high quality Non-ELS cars on here.

EDIT: As for the indicator script, I haven't had any problems with it. But I guess people have, I just remembered that I also use the DashCam mod made by i think Sniper is his name, or something along the lines of that.

EDIT: EDIT: I play on the same save as my regular campaign since you earn money by doing call outs and things of that nature. Just BEFORE you save your game, o to the police station, go to the back to go off duty, exit the station, THEN PRESS ALT+P TO EXIT LCPDFR. If you don't exit LCPDFR then I am pretty sure GTA has a shit fit and won't use that save. So I would just exit LCPDFR before saving just to be on the safe side.

Ahh alrighty - are they relatively rare, though? Just hoping I don't have to arrest muggers for the next couple of hours. Actually, when chasing someone on foot, what can I do, apart from aim the gun at them? Are there take-downs, can I hit them with my car, taser?

And, I see what you're saying about using your save, but it would seem more realistic to not have all my guns, grenades, etc, as an officer. Can I store or save the guns somewhere when playing the police role?

They come and go, the pursuits seem to be the most rare, but there really aren't "takedowns" you can punch them, hit them with your car, taze them, but you will have to have either your firearm or taser out and press E to arrest them. Although, I had seen a mod by Braveheart(?) that added even more call outs or something, I was looking into it when I saw your thread, so I would defenantly check that out. As for your guns, I don't know what to do about them, when I go on duty I usually keep them all because if I get into a shoot out I like to have my M4, G36, Shotgun, and Glock handy for any situations.

Alright, thanks for the help!

But it seems after I chase down a suspect and arrest them, etc, I sometimes stop receiving callouts and can only get them by turning off police duty, then re-setting it. Is this normal? What can I do? (This is without hitting 'F7' and turning on/off 'busy mode').

If you hit Alt+F11 it will spawn a call out, you can keep doing that until you find one you want to do, or just do it once and get a call. Also, if you need the list of keys for the mod, here it is:

Thanks, but I shouldn't have to do that to get call-outs normally, right? Normal call-outs actually stop once I make an arrest or two. I.e. just nothing. Nothing at all. No idea how to fix that.

EDIT: Can't seem to link my game to the website. I put in my details when installing the mod, but I get this message when viewing 'My Crime Stats';

Connected, but user seems to have not linked their account to the website.

That seems unusual. Have you tried going to a different area? Like to another island? That might work since it's a different area and a different set of calls.

The site has been having problems every now and again so when you went to link your account, you may have done it during one of the down times, keep trying to link it and hopefully is should work.
