I took some time out to make a complete tutorial since I had my files reset to basics for a while. Maybe this helps some people who are new to LSPDFR and modding :)

Welcome to my very first in the How-To series I plan to be doing.

I'm doing this because I see a-lot of people asking how to install vehicle models into the game.

I aim to make these tutorials as SIMPLE  as possible to follow. If you need help feel free to contact me via PM.

So, let's begin!

STEP ONE: Requirements - 

please make sure you have the following items before you do ANYTHING.

-A legitimate copy of Grand Theft Auto Five.

-A BACKUP of your saved game [CRITICAL]

-OpenIV (Can Be Downloaded at http://openiv.com/)

-A vehicle MOD for GTA:V that you like

STEP TWO:     Modding the game - 

Firstly, go to your windows start menu and search for OPENIV, and open the program. Please ensure that you have the REQUIRED open IV file in the GTA V dictionary. It should look like THIS: - http://i.imgur.com/tCM23JW.png   To find where GTA V is installed go to Steam > Library > Right click GTA V > Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files. 

Now we have that done, we can open OPENIV and click WINDOWS under GTA V.  And then click edit mode at the top right in the bar. Like this: http://imgur.com/w3Pqwqc

Now, ENSURE YOUR GAME IS BACKED UP BEFORE YOU PRESS EDIT MODE.

After, and only after you are certain you have backed up your game, then navigate to the following folder:

x64e is where most of the vehicles are located. Scroll down to find this file. http://imgur.com/cFeRzZg

Depending on your mod, IT MAY TELL YOU TO INSTALL THE VEHICLE SOMEWHERE ELSE. if so, that is self explanatory.

open the x64e and go to LEVELS > GTAV > VEHICLES and drag and drop the vehicle folders inside your vehicle mods folder into that dir.

STEP THREE:  WHEN IN DOUBT, TEST IT OUT!

Close OPENIV and test out your game, and complete this checklist

Has the game launched correctly? [Y/N] - If N PANIC! PM OfficerMurgatroyd right now, and restore your game to it's previous state using your backup.

-Is the vehicle being displayed correctly and driving correctly? [Y/N] If N, then reinstall the mod.

NOTE: This is not my instructions. (Taken from their site to save you from googling)

The latest version of OpenIV and OpenIV.ASI provide support for “mods” folder that can be very useful in the following cases:

• You have DVD or Rockstar Games Warehouse version of GTA V and every time you edit files Launcher download original files back;
• You want to have original GTA V files unmodified;
• You want to have fast way to switch between original and modified files.

Required software:

• OpenIV (2.6.3 or newer)
• OpenIV.ASI (1.1 or newer)
• GTA V ASI LOADER (build “May 2 2015” or newer)

Instruction:
1 – Download and install OpenIV. Configure it to work with your copy of GTAV.
2 – Navigate to ASI Manager using menu “Tools” > “ASI Manager” or “ASI Manager” button on tool bar.

Through ASI Manager, you can install, update or remove ASI Loader and OpenIV ASI plugins.
3 – Install ASI Loader and OpenIV.ASI
4 – Open your GTA V folder in File Explorer; you can do it fast in OpenIV
5 – In root of your GTA V folder create new folder and name if “mods” (lower case)
6 – Now you have to copy RPF archives into “mods” folder. For example, if you want to modify “Grand Theft Auto V\update\update.rpf” you need to copy it like “Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\update.rpf”.
The following table is explain how you need to copy archives to mods folder. The path to RPF archive in “mods” folder must be the same as in real GTA Vfolder, here is some examples:

 

Grand Theft Auto V – Original archive path	Path in “mods” folder
GTAV\update\update.rpf	GTAV\mods\update\update.rpf
GTAV\common.rpf	GTAV\mods\common.rpf
GTAV\x64\audio\sfx\SCRIPT.rpf	GTAV\mods\x64\audio\sfx\SCRIPT.rpf
GTAV\update\x64\dlcpacks\mpheist\dlc.rpf	GTAV\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\mpheist\dlc.rpf
GTAV\x64e.rpf	GTAV\mods\x64e.rpf

7 – From this point if you want to install mod or edit some file you need to do it in archive from “mods” folder.

 

Now all your mods will be in separated folder, and original files will stay not modified.
If you want to switch back to original files just go to ASI Manager and remove OpenIV.ASI. In addition, you can remove ASI Loader to disable all ASI plugins that you have installed.
You can use ASI Manager any time to switch between mods and original game. You no need to remove “mods” folder every time.

REQUIREMENTS:

Notepad++ (https://notepad-plus-plus.org)

LSPDFR v0.1e (http://www.lcpdfr.com/files/file/7792-lspd-first-response/)

STEP 1: Installing Notepad++

1. Firstly, go to the website I provided above (https://notepad-plus-plus.org)
2. Then, download the latest install from the "download" page. 
3. Install Notepad++ using the installer that you downloaded. The installer should look like this:

STEP 2: Editing the startup.rphs file

1. Go to your GTAV root directory
2. Right click the startup.rphs file, choosing "Edit with Notepad++". It should look something like this:

Useful information

You should put WarnOnPluginLoad false on the top, so plugins such as Finkone's Police Radio can load once.

You should only load plugins you trust - don't load plugins that seem sketchy.

You don't need the quotation marks when putting a plugin in the startup.rhps, for example: You don't need quotes when loading PoliceRadio.dll as it is one word, but you need quotes when loading LSPDFR First Responce.dll because it has spaces.

For example, here's my startup.rphs:

Then, head to your desktop and right click.

Now, click on the NVIDIA Control Panel

Then, when you have the control panel up, head to 3D Settings > manage 3D Settings.

This is what you should currently be seeing

Now click on Program Settings, and then click on the bar to select a application, select GTA5.exe

When you are onto that, scroll down to the following.

Power Management Mode > Prefer Maximum Performance

If you have a Dual/Quad or more CPU - Threaded Optimisation > On

If you have 1GB to 2GB VRAM - Triple Buffering > On

Optional VSync:
High End Systems: Adaptive
Low End Systems: Adaptive (half refresh rate)

Then Apply the settings, screen may freeze for a second, this is normal.

Then close down NVIDIA Control Panel

Start up GTA V and watch the FPS difference (difference may vary between systems)

My Specs and FPS

Core 2 Quad Q8200 @ 2.33ghz

NVIDIA Geforce GT 740 2GB DDR3

6GB DDR2 333mhz

FPS Before - City 15/20fps. Countryside 25/30fps

FPS After - City 30-40fps. Countryside 50/60fps.

I hope I have helped many users with FPS issues to get their game to the speedy game they want!

All you need to do is go to your settings.xml which is located in C:\Users\Username\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V and open it with notepad.

Find   <ShadowQuality value="1" /> and change the 1 (or whatever number that's there) to a 0.

Note: in-game by shadows it will say undefined.
