First Find a Car you like

Download it from the LSPDFR page or a website of your choice.

Extract it (Personally I Use WINRAR)

Youube videos on how to use that

Once you have extracted your folder open, openIV (download from internet)

Once you have your vehicle folder and open iv open go into edit mode. Button on the top.

Use the read me in the vehicle folder to tell you where to go!

E.G Update/X64/DLCpacks (in the read me its should tell you what dlc pack to go into)

patchday3ng/ dlc.rpf/x64/levels/gta5/vehiclesrpf/ find the car your replacing (should tell you in the read me file. and select those files (Example police.2) find all the files (police 2 ) and highlight them and then press the green plus button at the top of the screen. After selecting the green cross find where you extracted vehicle files and select all of them.

Simple (kind off) now your new cop car should be ready in game for you.

Hoped this helped if not message me and i will walk you through it..

Introduction:

Hello everyone! Welcome to my first ever tutorial.

My goal is to run through, step by step, the basics of converting a car model from another game into a GTA IV vehicle which will be fully functioning.

I will be linking my videos below as I make them so at the moment, this tutorial is a work in progress but I am planning on completing the whole tutorial in about 5-8 parts (hopefully).

Please feel free to leave any and all comments, questions, or critique. I look forward to helping everyone and learning from some good constructive criticism.

Notes:

The video tutorials will start at a point at which you should already have your vehicle model by either ripping it from a game, or simply downloading it off a website.

You will need zModeler and a working copy of GTA IV.

Please refer to here for the full tutorial:

NickieB's Basic Zmodeler Import/Export Tutorial

I took this down a long time ago for a long list of reasons. I won't go into those reasons since they aren't important anymore. After receiving a lot of PM's requesting it to be sent to them or put back up again I decided I would once again make it public and share it with everyone. I know there are others like it but apparently there was something about mine that people liked since I've had so many requests for it.

Everything you need to know is contained within these 24 photo collages. If you want to actually follow it step by step you'll need BxBugs123's CVPI, Whelen Justice, Go Rhino Pushbar, and Code 3 XT6's. Otherwise all the steps apply to every other WFT you'll ever have to import. Once again this is just a basic guide to import and export a model. As far as support goes, please either comment below and maybe someone can help or try going over the tutorial again since I know everything that you need to know to get models into Zmod is covered in this guide. *I won't reply to PM's for support*

If you want to download the archive as a ZIP, the link is below. Comment/Concerns comment below or PM me. Thanks

This tutorial only applies to vehicles with multiple extras.

Once we have the vehicle setup to our liking, we'll want to attach the extras together so ELS will actually work in-game.

First things first, check to see if the lighting equipment has any "helper" (or similar) folders within the main folder itself. As you can see, there are two helper folders here.

Drag these helper folders out of the main equipment folder (in this case WhelenEdge and Whelen_Talon) above the vehicle model (police.wft).

Once the helper folders are no longer inside the main equipment folder(s), proceed to delete the equipment folder(s) (this is not a requirement, but it keeps things tidy) by right clicking on the folder and selecting edit/delete.

Open up the helper folders, as you can see there are multiple extra 1 and extra 4 folders. These are what we will be attaching (only attach the extras if there is more than one set). At this point, decide which light bar will be the "main" one you will attach everything to. For this tutorial, I have selected the Whelen Edge (the second helper folder) as the main light bar.

Open the extra folders, inside you should see a extra_L0 file. Drag the extra_L0 files out of this folder and into the main light bar (WhelenEdge) extras folder.

You should now see duplicate extra_L0 files.

Right click on the main light bar folder (WhelenEdge) and select "Show isolated", this will hide all other layers/folders but the one selected.

The hierarchy and view panels should know look like this... and oh no! The car is gone! Don't worry, this is perfectly fine.

Now hide the main light bar base (the actual bar itself, not the extras - these should be named differently). You should end up with a view like this.

Under the tools tab on the left hand side of your screen, click on modify and then click attach.

Making sure Selective Mode is off (keyboard shortcut - space-bar), attach the extras to each other (extra_1_L0 to extra_1_L0 and extra_4_L0 to extra_4_L0, ect) by clicking on the secondary (talon) extras and selecting the primary (edge) extras.

The duplicate extra_L0 files should now disappear from your hierarchy. This means you have successfully attached the extras together.

Right click on the main light bar and click "show the rest". This should reveal all hidden layers/folders.

The extras folders (where you took the extra_L0 files from) can now be deleted (once again, this isn't required, but it keeps things neat and tidy).

If the vehicle has any sub folders inside the lighting equipment folders (as shown, there is a misc_g folder inside the talon helper folder), drag them out and delete the original folder. At this point, rename any folders that are named the same (in this case I've changed "helper" to edge).

Place the lighting equipment folders (edge and misc_g) inside the vehicle model hierarchy folder.

Because the lights are mounted on the roof and dash of this vehicle, they're fine to sit under the chassis_L2 file, however this is dependent on the lighting position (ex: if you have lights in the grill, they should go inside the "bonnet" folder. NOTE: Always make sure the extra_L0 files are above the lighting equipment model, such as the base/stand, itself!).

Hopefully this tutorial helped you. If you have any questions, please leave them below and I will try my best to answer them. :)

In this tutorial, I'm gonna show you how to get lights and sirens on a police vehicle which is added in a civilian vehicle slot.

This tutorial requires some of the basics of modding vehicles by using OpenIV.

Requirements:

ELS V7 or 8

Legal copy of Grand Theft Auto IV - 1.0.7.0 or EFLC 1.1.2.0

OpenIV

A text editor, for example, Notepad++ or GetDiz.

A vehicle modification.

WinRAR or 7Zip.

Alright, first off, we need to download a car mod. Whatever car of your choice. ELS enabled ones are recommended since I have learned that there are problems with non-els vehicles.

I'm gonna go with this one: http://www.gta4-mods.com/vehicles/1983-chevrolet-impala-libertychicago-police-f11974

Once you have the rar file open, you need to rename 'police2.wft' and 'police2.wtd' (or whatever the names of your files are) to a civilian vehicle slot name.

I'm gonna rename them to 'vigero2.wft' and 'vigero2.wtd', since the real VIGERO2 is ugly as shit, so yeah!

Like this:

And now you can go ahead and add these two files in vehicles.img with OpenIV. Don't forget to make backups of the files you're replacing, and rebuild and save while you're at it!

Okay, now that you've done that, let's check on what we have, in the OpenIV window, double-click on the vigero2.wft file you just replaced, and the whole vehicle will be shown.

This is how it will look like in game. Don't worry about the wheels or any other missing features, that's just how OpenIV renders it. They will be there in-game.

Now that we've added the vehicle into the game, let's change the vehicles.ide lines.

Use Notepad++ and open vehicles.ide in the common/data folder. Make sure that it's not write-protected.

Right-click on the vehicles.ide file and choose properties, then deselect the write-protection box.

Then click ok, and open the file itself with notepad++

This is how it should look like:

Now, go to police or police2, and copy this line from it: car, POLICE, POLICE, VEH@STD, VEH@STD_RI1, 100, 999, 0.2345, 0.2345, 0.2, 2, 1.0 ,1, ext_requi+ext_strong+livery (NOT the entire line, just the line that starts with 'car,'!

and remove this line from vigero2: car, VIGERO2, VIGERO2, VEH@LOW, VEH@LOW_HI2_HI2, 30, 999, 0.2237, 0.2237, 0, 5, 1.0 ,1, ext_requi+livery+bangerexhaustfx

and replace it with the line you copied from police or police2.

Now save and if it is an ELS enabled vehicle, you need to add a new line to the bottom of the ELS.ini file which should be like this:

[ VIGERO2 ]

Status = on

File = default_config

Now try it out in-game.

There you have it! You now have a police vehicle in a civilian vehicle slot!

Thanks for reading my first tutorial, I hope it wasn't too hard to read. :D

If you liked it, please feel free to press the green arrow over there -->

And if there's something wrong or a problem, don't be shy and PM me about it!
