  1. I remember when the Battlefield franchise experimented with different settings and gameplay styles with each release.... I guess they can't away with that anymore though. Modern/near future US-focused is probably all they're allowed to do.

Although that said, I feel like if they released a sequel to say, Battlefield 2142, it'd be likely to be really different and ruin my nostalgia of that game.

  2. Before painting in Zmod, try moving the siren_glass objects that you're going to repaint out of the chassis hierarchy, then turning the chassis hierarchy off (so everything except the siren_glass is hidden). Then when you're done painting, move them back into the hierarchy where they originally were.

  3. You particularly should be excited as it will include one feature that was your idea :]

    :O

    :D

One little thing I noticed before when I was processing a suspect and putting the knife he into evidence is just a little English error in the message that appears when you drop off evidence at the station. I believe it says something along the lines of 'Evidence were dropped off at the station', whereas the proper wording would be 'Evidence was dropped off at the station'.

Evidence is one of those words that means both plural (multiple) and singular. So where you might have cars were racing (plural)/a car was racing(singular), evidence is always 'was', unless you're saying a piece of evidence was/pieces of evidence were.

Sorry if I just gave you a totally unnecessary English lesson. It's really not a major problem at all :P

  4. Unfortunately, not right now. I've become accustomed to hitting F9 and then F11 whenever I start chases.

Ah that's what I was worried about, people developing a preference for a certain pursuit mode and having to change to it every time. Oh well, there's still time to make such a feature if any devs are watching?  :whistling:

  5. So is this a lost cause? I just figured out how to change the glass color in Zmodeler, the only problem is that I am having trouble selecting only the glass, the program is not acute enough and the surrounding materials are selected too.

UPDATE: I finished painting the lights, however when I import the modified car with Spark IV it says that an Unhandled Exception Has Occurred.

Make sure you are in polygon mode and using selected mode for a better way of selecting all the right surfaces. As I've mentioned since the beginning, you cannot change the actual flash colours to anything other than the default red and white colours. You can only change the colour of the glass which may be able to make the lights appear a slightly different colour.

Check the .wft you are importing is not 0kb filesize. Check there are no errors shown in the Zmodeler log box when you are exporting the file in zmod.

  6. A roadside drug-testing script, working like the breathalyser in Braveheart's Policing Script.

Head up to a stopped car (with a driver) or a ped and press a key, then you have to wait a few seconds and it will either say 'ALL CLEAR' or 'DETECTED PRESENCE OF ___' (an illicit drug like marijuana, ecstasy, meth amphetamines) etc. If possible and if you had the skill, a graphic interface where we could see a swab stick pop-up in the corner of the screen and either turn blue (indicates presence of the drug) or not change at all (all clear).

    Reckon you can do it?

    :)

  7. I'm really not 100% on what it is that makes the light coronas bluer/whiter, but if it's related to the corona texture you may like to try this mod  and see if one looks right for you. It could just be an illusion based on what materials are around it (so if you changed the white glass to blue glass, the corona flashing inside it may appear to be bluer)

  8. Well the only way to alter the colour they flash in game is by renaming each siren dummy as I said before. They'll either be red (odd numbers) or white/blue (I think your ENB/coronas.wtd or visual settings effect how blue or white they appear ingame) for even numbers.

For the actual glass of the default lightbar, it's not controlled by a texture file. It's painted in with zmodeler. You need to select the polygons you wish to change the colour of (with selected mode on, so it's orange), switch to Vertex mode, then select the paint tool (Surface -> Paint), change the pressure to 100, then open the Colour menu and choose your colour, then hit 'Fill selection'.
