  1. Al Queda didn't exist until the end of Afghanistan's war with Russia. You must not be very old to understand how sensitive nuclear tensions were even into the 1980's. Sure lets give Russia more countries available for Russian missile launch sites, weapons storage and development territories or more conscripts for their army. Hell, why not let them take over the whole continent? Why not? What's the worst that could happen?

You're blowing things out of proportion. The same can be said about US. From a non-US resident standpoint, I can too say: "Sure, lets sit back and see the CIA manipulate governments in the middle-east and South America. Let them cause more chaos in this region so they can use the regional natural resources for their own profit and keep the world superpower  throne to themselves which earns them even more rights to bully third-world countries. Let them grow more Al-Qaedas in every corner of the world. Hell, why not let them take over the entire planet? Whats the worst that could happen?"

Spewing bullshit is no solution, lad. We could do this all day long.

Looks like you ignored the second part of the paragraph you quoted, so I'll spell it out for you if you can read it. Guess what? The countries that matter in the U.N. or even NATO, despite it already being a small group, are very few in number. America is one, England, France, Germany, Canada, Israel and Australia are among the others that I can think of mattering to us the most, primarily because they are the biggest cooperators with our military, they buy from us, trade stuff with us and they share our ideals of democracy more than others. No matter their coordinates on the globe, all of the countries mentioned had something to lose if the communists took over two continents. You'd have to be ignorant or just simply ignoring facts just to continue arguing with me in order to debate that. Many conflicts throughout the cold war era were because of that the ever looming threat of a third world war spearheaded by Russia and the U.S. But like I said earlier, what's the worst that could happen if we had just let Stalin do what he wanted in Asia and left Germany on May 9th and not stayed behind?

No offense, but I think the USA can do just about anything and get away with it, today. So, in my humble opinion, what you wrote above about NATO being a fraternity is nonsense. Other countries won't isolate the US like they can/are doing with Russia. USA is undeniably the world superpower right now. And if I'm fair enough to admit this, I'm fair enough to admit the fact that they're abusing their influence in world politics. Which is only fair. One who's got the stick, will swing it with force to keep others under tab.

Speaking of history books, you may want to crack one open some time. World War II's start wasn't with the invasion of Poland.

Yes it was. It took time for WW II to spiral into WW II. See below.

Mass casualties in that era started with Japan cutting into China and slaughtering people practically at will years before 1939. Or if you want to ignore the start of the Pacific campaign entirely, you can still go back to 1918 to find the start of WWII in Europe.

    Thats why I said:

WW II was triggered almost solely because of Germany invading Poland

Tensions were high indeed. But the real WW II was triggered mainly after German invasion into Poland.

  2. Yeah because Afghanistan would have been way better off being under the control of the Soviet Union, right? Get a grip. We don't just give random sh*t to countries unprovoked. We are looked to for mass production of arms and vehicles by everyone. We gave weapons and money to Afghanistan to fight off the Russians, and they did successfully. In hindsight, due to the conflicts we had in the 2000's, that unfortunately ended up hurting us, but hindsight is always 20/20. Alliances change, factions dissolve, governments get overthrown in the "3rd world" as we know it today. But don't sit there and bullsh*t me trying to say that having a communist middle east would have been better for the world.

Riiight. So to help Afghans fight off the Soviet union, its okay to fund Al-Qaeda. You are the one who needs to get a grip. To answer your first question, I indeed think Afghanistan would have been way better off being under control of the Soviet Union than being pathetically infested and controlled by your covert CIA program's backfire, better known as Al-Qaeda. I wonder if you caught my meaning when I mentioned CIA/Pentagon in my previous post addressing the same issue.

And no, I don't think we did a huge favor. As said before, America intervenes if it benefits NATO and the U.N. The Afghanistan war with Russia was during the cold war, so the western allies had something to lose if that region fell into the grip of communism. That's why we had a concern with it. And I agree plenty of Americans on here will disagree with me, but the vast majority of them know little to nothing about history and politics throughout the past 100 years.

Yeah. And the world is made out of chocolate and there's rainbow-farting unicorn in my backyard. On one hand you talk like an expert on the issue, and on the other hand you act as if you were an innocent gullible person who thinks all of the official statements released by the President's office are nothing but pure truth.

I like how you said you wouldn't go on to counter that claim, and then you followed up by trying to do so.

    Happy much?

Germany was no better in terms of suffering in April 1945. At leas 5,000 women in Berlin alone committed suicide due to mass rape at the hands of the Russians, there was no running water, no food, many homes were destroyed, no government, no military and a significantly reduced male population. And they bounced back from it by working hard. Japan didn't even get a land invasion. Casualties for X-Day were projected to be 1,000,000 Japanese and 100,000 Americans, so despite the two nukes, they got off easy compared to what could have happened with us, never mind the fact that Russia broke down their back door in the last few weeks of the war and was quickly sweeping through China on their way to Japan. Most British colonies were forced into the war by Britain, not America. And that's one of the reasons why they don't own most of those colonies anymore. It was a stipulation of us providing assistance in WWII. Many countries suffering in Asia were or still are under either a dictatorship, imperial rule or communist leadership. Countries that worked hard to modernize themselves and wound up using a more democratic form of government are the ones doing well, barring China who has made communism work for its government at the expense of many of its citizens. World War II has long been over and China got the worst of the Japanese invasions, yet here they stand as one of the world's economic powers. Any country can bounce back with enough hard work. Germany and China both proved that.

I don't even know why you're stuck on Germany. It sounds as its the only thing you remember from the history book you read. I have so much to write here but then again, it is too much to be written. But still, just to rejog your memory: WW II was triggered almost solely because of Germany invading Poland. They were able, development-centric and prospering country then, and even after war, like you said yourself, they stood back up on their feet. But whats important here to remember is that they were able to bounce back BECAUSE of their pre-WW II condition. This thread is about third-world countries, and almost all of them were NOT able, development-centric and prospering and neither are they now. Conclusion is clear. Post-WW II, only a handful have been able to progress beyond that bar. For instance, India was a British colony pre-WW II. During WW-II, they were fighting for independence and getting their young children forced into the war across the globe at the same time. Indian PoWs back then were used as live targets for Japanese army recruits practice sessions and to satisfy their cannibalism hunger. At home, their parents were tied to houses and burned alive with their entire village by the British for participating in independence movements. Thousands of armed soldiers used to slaughter unarmed crowds with their guns from a safe distance. So stop thinking like Germany was the only country which had its fate sealed during WW II. You don't seem to know what was happening in other parts of the world at that time.

  3. I don't even know why people forget to use precautions and end up in situations like these. Babies are like speeches, easy to conceive, hard to deliver. But my take is- deliver it once you've conceived it. Because it was your fault that you didn't think it over in the first place, and now you have no right to kill something which isn't even born to defend itself and like I said, is a result of your negligence. Consider it a penalty. Heck you can throw him/her in an orphanage after delivering it. Who knows you could change your mind by the time he/she comes into this world?

Also, like they say on Independence FM:

  4. And don't pin all of your countries problems on me, I don't owe you anything, and I don't think our current government does either. America intervened in your country's affairs before by giving weapons and money like we've done with several countries in the past to try and assist in the establishment of a better government to better serve the U.N. and NATO

Yeah and it worked out sooo well...

Believe it or not, but most native Afghans that I've met blame Pentagon/CIA for the pitiful conditions of their country. And there are Americans like yourself who sit at home believing that they did the world a huge favor by intervening in the nations and toying with their regional political situations there which they have absolutely no concerns with. And I can tell you right here and now that there are more Americans on this forum who think that it was a wrong move and that the US should have better spent all that money in their own country to solve their people's problems and clearing debts rather than poking their nose where it doesn't belong.

However, it's not fair of you to sit there and tell everyone that we have to rebuild your country for you. You know what country was way worse off than you in the 1940's? Germany. America, England and Russia utterly destroyed that country by 1945 due to World War II. People in Berlin had no running water, no power, no telephones, no hospitals, no police, no army, no air force and had a significantly reduced male population due to all the military conscripts casualties. A lot of current day third world countries have a lot of the things Germany didn't have. Germany is still paying back, or just finished paying back reparations money from WWI and WWII if my memory serves me correct (a German resident of this forum can fill us in on this properly) and the re-construction of Berlin alone, never mind other cities in Germany, wasn't complete until the 1980's. Germany lost two world wars, wound up split in half between the Soviet Union and NATO for around 50 years, and have come back from utter poverty to regain it's status as one of the most civilized, modern and well-to-do western countries in the world today.

Wow! Now, thats just plain ignorance. I won't even go on to counter that claim. Read some Asian history and you'll get to know how most British colonies were forced into WWs and are now "actually" suffering under the third-world countries tag. Germany is faar better in terms of suffering.

  5. Frankly speaking, the issues in many African regions may never be solved. It may be hard for most Americans to imagine, but I have seen it, and just try to give it a thought- there's absolutely no consequences for these war crimes, warlords and PMCs can get away with anything. Whats the solution? The one plausible thing is the people stand back up and fight. Which obviously isn't happening because the regional food and water supply is controlled by the same warlords. They can end anyone's life whenever they want so people's key of survival, the.. uh... how do you say it, the sole key for that "revolution" that I'm talking about is taken away by these warlords, not allowing it to happen. In some parts, even the policemen are corrupt and they are in the police just as a formality, otherwise they do freelancing for the warlord's hired PMC.

Think. When almost EVERYONE, even the people who are supposed to protect you are involved in oppressing you, how are you supposed to break free? Like I said, when even the basic commodities which are crucial for the survival of people are controlled by the warlords, there is no option for the people. Its like a stonewall, all doors closed, no escape routes. Imagine their desperation as even if they want to fight, they can't, and they are forced to live in that hellhole. Most of us first-world country citizens take all that freedom and joyful living for granted. This seems like a loophole to me. It'll be exploited over and over by the warlords for their personal gains which will prevent democracy, peace, hygiene and human rights to settle there. No wonder most oppressed Africans I met were atheists. God exists solely for those who live in either first-world or second-world countries. But thats for another topic.

  6. The latest theories about the Big Bang would be that the Big Bang we are mentioning isn't actually the first, but the latest of a series. It would be a perpetual cycle, where the universe would expand, always further, until it would reach its limit and shrink on itself, all the matter in a single tiny particle, only to explode again and re-expand. That's the simple version, but it's an interesting theory.

Goddamn that sounds like a fun game. I mean, after each re-expansion, a new stage comes into play- lets see how fast you can re-evolve your civilization and solve the puzzle of big-bang theory before it shrinks again and bam! Sorry, try again. Got tokens?

  7. No, thats completely unrelated, Flash. Or at least I believe so. It was merely a coincidence my game crashed right after the Zombie outbreak in Bohan, thanks to your script. Perhaps the game wasn't ever designed for the zombie storyline so when it branched out outta nowhere, the game tried to trigger/execute the mission hierarchy for that; failing to find any it might've just crashed.

  8. Really love how those callouts are organized. Just responded in my unmarked Stainer to a potential drug deal with siren off, and called in some backup just to be safe (LCPDFR usually has a small army with rifles on that callout). To my surprise, backup also appears siren off, and drives to the waypoint with me. We split up, I turn in the alleyway, they turn other side, and we start searching. I see the guy, he sees me and runs for it! I follow him on foot, he turns the corner and - SURPRISE! - there's my backup unit standing behind the wall and taking him down with a taser shot! Damn that was so realistic.

Another one: we had a 'man with the gun' call. When I arrived projects police were on the scene asking for help. We charge and see two guys in this stupid gang clothes. Project cops jack one, put cuffs on him and then the other guy takes a gun and starts shooting. That was really unexpected so I shot him so I could wonder without interruption.

I also noticed in man with the gun callout that if NPC arrest the perp they don't put him in the car and they just stand there, and I can't arrest him too.

And in the paramedics require help call if you beat down the suspect and call for an ambulance they don't treat him.

And finally in the fighting callout you can't stop them from fighting until you beat them to death...

Not complaining or something, this really doesn't disturb too much, just provide some feedback :D

You got lucky. My game broke after that incident.

  9. Atheist. I see flaws in "God theory".

I've seen people in troubles where they shout at God for not helping them and he doesn't show up. I've seen people thanking God for saving them from similar troubles and he doesn't show up. I believe the ones who survived a fatal accident were solely saved by the event's probability while they believe some knight in shining armor saved them. I believe their fellows who couldn't survive died solely because of the event's probability despite remembering God more honestly than the ones who survived. I believe God is a humanification of nature created by our ancestors so that their future generations would learn to fear nature's wrath and in turn avoid harming it. Its merely an irony that we pollute air, land, water and environment today and go to the church on sunday as if that would restore everything back to normal. People nowadays worship God BECAUSE their ancestors used to, defeating the actual purpose of the creation of God rest of the time. I believe if God were to be here and if once he had showed up in the last 200 years anywhere on the face of the earth, the media (newspapers) would've covered the story or at least there were credible witness statements recorded somewhere. But alas! Nobody has seen what they call God in at least the last two centuries. This concept is being carried on from generations to generations merely on thousands of years old hearsay. And no, I do not believe the blasphemous theory of some theists who say the God has abandoned earth because we humans have spiraled out of control. I mean how crazy is that? On one hand you say he's so kind that he crafted this planet with his own bare hands in six days worth of time and on the other hand he just abandoned us like that? That sounds something like a human would do, not God. I have other philosophies but I better stop right now.

  10. Well now we have an experienced team.

Starting soon, We just need someone who can do animations.. And someone who can scratch model.

    Everything else is handled

I know scratch-modeling (and no, I'm not a novice modeling lightbars and minor police equipment), I know texturing, I know lighting, a little bit of rigging, animation and composting and more than enough photo and video editing skills. Just PM me with your plans and I might hop on board.

  11. I think if you have an experienced team at your command, enough resources and financial support as you claim, you should give it a try. Of course, the results may not be comparable to a game as stable as GTA IV itself since it was developed by a seasoned and well-known company with 900+ employees throughout the world, but since you will be focusing on JUST a fraction of original GTA IV-like features comprising of and limited to police role-playing elements (which means not having to work on story and side-missions like Rockstar studios had to do), I can actually see potential. BUT, like I said, only in the case where you have the resources and the experience you claim to have.

  12. are these all true stories? If so, "The house job", was effing creepy!

No, I don't think so. Except for 'Out in the woods'. The writer insisted that its her true story so... who knows?

The first story immediate made me question the validity of the stories. I have been on hundreds of calls for people thinking someone is in their house or creeping around outside their house and not once did we ever have more than two units on those calls, much less an entire SWAT team. Usually it would just be us and maybe one other unit to go check it out depending on the circumstances. Maybe they should remove the word "true" from the title, some of them were creepy nonetheless.

No better way to experience a SWAT team vs the supernatural being scenario than watching Afflicted (2013). I was never able to get that image out of my head. Poor GIGN.

This is my favorite.....Really worth the listen.

I've read it (not watched/listened to it) but did not find anything 'too creepy' about it. Though, talking of Russia I always have my only favorite -a story based on rather actual events- The Dyatlov Pass Incident. There's even movie with the same name ("Devil's Pass" in some parts of the world) on the same topic.

  13. A lot. My favorite place to read them is creepypasta. Here are my top five that have made it almost impossible for me to sleep comfortably at night alone in me bed even to this date, despite the fact that I read them ages ago:

    DISCLAIMER:

    • The stories linked may be scary and/or long to some. Reader discretion is advised.
    • Everyone's definition of Halloween is different. I like to read/hear stories that have disturbing/unexplained facts about them. For me, horror doesn't mean mindless blood and gore. To me, it should creep you out. Thats my personal taste.

Out in the woods (My top favorite)

Squidward's suicide (The spongebob character, yes)

1999 (The longest one of the lot)

The smiling man (This one reminds me of the joker from Batman and I detested my extraordinary imagination abilities after reading this )

The house job (This prompted me to watch the movie V/H/S and I deeply regretted watching that pathetic excuse for a movie; this story is a rather masterpiece compared to that crap)

  14. In terms of the graphics, yes they could be a lot better. 4 guys managed to make "The Forest" and that is a beautiful game which I love very much. I'll be keeping my eye on this game's launch.

If memory serves me correctly, that game is based on Unreal Engine 3.0-3.5 so its bound to looks good.

Anyways, the game trailer was no-so very well made. First off they show the two publisher title screens way too many times- at the start and at the end again. Whats the logic? Secondly, it looks like SA. Third, the trailer itself was fairly short and fails to feature any fun gameplay elements which provokes the gamer in the viewers.

Moral of the story- they need to find a good director/video editor, first and foremost.

  15. Customs aren't always cheap. Last I built one I had to shell out extra bucks to get my hands on a specific manufacturer's hardware which Dell or HP's pre-builts did not have in them.

Anyways, its always good to custom-build what you want. That way you can build a PC cost-effectively and choose ONLY the stuff you want without having too much scrap junk under the hood. For example, if you want say 12 GB RAM and a GTX780 for yourself, you won't end up with a pre-built which forces you to have an ultra-advanced SSD with your desired setup which has absolutely no use for you and instead adds to the budget.

  16. That story, WOW! Zombies attack in Bohan might have been a great mod  :teehee:

I didn't modify that call except of debugging. Your problem was caused by the ambulance that got stuck. In such situation you can do two things: 1) hop in the RMP and go help the paramedics to go through traffic, 2) press [End] to finish the call. I'll add a rule that exclude cops from joining the crowd.

Try the call once more and you'll see how it works, have in mind that you can stop any callout by pressing [End] (by default). Unfortunately in the next couple of months I won't have enough time to make any major changes to the code (eg. check IsVehStuck) so you gotta handle such situation yourself eg. by finishing the call, detaining the vic and driving him to the hospital (a bit of roleplay).

Thanks. Maybe it was just me. Maybe I should've handled the situation more effectively but since I only get to play LCPDFR every once in a while (due to my hectic schedule), I'm just not used to handle script-related blunders like these. And I swear I didn't know I could have ended the callout. It was fun though while it lasted.

  17. O boy! I finally had the opportunity to try the newest version today. I have only played the first callout that popped up and I'm having issues with it so I just alt+tabbed out and rushed here to report.

Report of a person lying down in the street. I respond to the scene to find a person lying down on the ground with two beggars watching over him. I do as told, press F12 to call an ambulance. Much to my surprise, my character calls for a bus. Weird, I thought. Dispatch lets me know that there is no 'bus' available at this time. 5 seconds later, they inform me that the 'bus' is on the way. Cool. So the ambulance is on its way and for half-an-hour (literally), I'm there waiting for it to come find me but it doesn't. Suddenly it screeches to a halt across the street and stands there for eternity. I go up to check and I see only the driver sitting there, adding up to the jam. The paramedic had either escaped the ambulance somehow or the driver must have drove away without actually waiting for his partner to get in. Either way, it was useless standing there. After that, I went back to my original position and noticed that initially a two-man crew watching over the drunk guy has transformed into a 12+ strong army. I tell all of them to evacuate the area but they don't listen. So I arrest a random beggar and call for a prison transport vehicle. They arrive shortly afterwards and run up to the beggar in the crowd. The handcuffed beggar still doesn't budge and stands their showing his ultimate loyalty and integrity. So I get a hold of him and escort him to the prison transport vehicle. This where the nightmare begins.

Much to my surprise, the officers who arrived in the prison transport unit join the sight-seeing crowd and refuse to leave. The guy who I just arrested got inside the prison transport and then came out of it again, to re-join the crowd. Then I see hordes of people at the end of the street moving towards the crowd to join it. Panicked, I fire two shots in the air but to no avail. I retreat and order them to evacuate the area but they just keep walking towards me. I take aim, blow the brains of some of the people in the crowd but they still keep coming at me. I shout at the scanner, "DISPATCH, WE'VE GOT A ZOMBIE SITUATION ON APPLEJACK STREET! People are getting infected with a horde-forming virus outta nowhere!" I take out my riot shotgun and empty the entire magazine into the crowd. Blood spilled everywhere but more and more people just join the crowd. Some people sitting in their cars freak out and try to flee, but as soon as they got out, they're infected with the virus too and instead of fleeing, they turn back 'round, start slowly walking to join the crowd like they're hypnotized. By that time, I had almost shat my pants. My cruiser was parked very close to them zombies so I rush to the ambulance to attempt an escape, hoping that my partner would follow me, but alas! Even my partner is infected. Thank goodness I left in the ambulance, reached the police station, went off-duty and alt+tabbed out.

Flash, you've created one hell of a callout there, man. Hats off. It injects a new life in GTA IV. The mighty LCPD vs Zombies. Niice!
