This callout is great. I work with the PD all the time and this is about normal for what they typically do.

I am beyond entertained doing these callouts.

I can totally see other scenarios using this same format. I work as Loss Prevention and I think a shoplifter call would be cool. Have LP at a store call PD. You roll onto location with description. Wait for them to exit the building than stop and search them. If they have merchandise you can make an arrest. Make contact with the LP to get a positive ID and have them fill out the no-permission paperwork and return the merchandise. Than take him to jail.

You can mix it up. Sometimes the shoplifter stops and talks. Sometimes he runs. Sometimes he fist fights or has a knife on rare occasions. Sometimes when you're sitting outside waiting he comes running out, maybe chased but even by himself would be a fun little foot pursuit. If he runs he may ditch merchandise or drugs (a lot of my shoplifters are drug addicts) Or if you want it to be realistic and boring the shoplifter is already detained inside the store and you just need to talk to the LP and take the suspect back to booking.

If you want I can give you some other or more detailed experiences I've had to add more variation and I could even go through how stops usually go for this thing since I've done a lot of them. I think you could even have literal repeat offenders since a lot of shoplifters are habitual and do it for drug money or because they like the thrill. You can do a variety of people with different personalities even. Herion addicts, teenagers, ORC crews, bored housewives. Some are docile, some run and fight and others just get verbally combative.

You could have them take place in one of those clothing stores with interiors. There are also a couple of gas stations/shops and big outlet stores/outdoor malls so have them take place in.

I'd say that Shoplifting is a significant enough part of a police officers job to consider it. They handle that callout a lot, especially in cities or retail-dense areas. Some cities have dedicated divisions for retail crime.

I agree with this.  I have a list of callouts that I want to make that are "frequent" but have the ability to go crazy (rarely, you guys know my style).

I have a list of 13 callouts (that haven't really been done yet, some have been) and I can tell you that shoplifting is on the list, and pretty high up there. ;)

Thanks for the positive feedback and if I do have questions, I'll contact you.  I did end up picking the brain of a few actual law enforcement officers in terms of out comes for this call.  I can't wait to find time to do more.  For this callout, mostly its going to just get a bit of polish here and there (update the INI a bit more, so people can adjust the interval to check on you, polish and explain some buttons a bit more).

@FinKone I've been watching some of the preview videos for Repeat Offender and was wondering, Is contacting the owner of a possible stolen car a bug or just not needed in some situations? Would be nice to allow for that to be at the discretion of the investigating officer... Not a deal breaker, just curious.

You can contact the owner only when you've witnessed a BnE and want to inform the registered owner (if they have a number for them) just aids in removal of the car.  Entirely optional, no points awarded.

  3. Small update on the progress guys...

BEEN BUSY AS HELL!  Honestly though its coming along nicely.

Changes since the last video :

Able to request suspect description from dispatch if you missed it.

Once suspect placed into custody you'll tell dispatch (its automatic) and they will not conduct welfare checks any longer. DONT FORGET TO GO 10-8 ONCE DONE WITH THE CALL!!

Partner will aid you in replying to dispatch if he is on scene and you are busy (he will auto-reply to dispatch)

Suspect will drop drugs more often, and randomly (still some what rare)

Suspect not always breaking into vehicles improved

Suspect has additional out comes (He might attempt to assault you without a weapon for a few seconds, then flee, for example)

Dismiss method of reporting person concludes better.

Reporting person might just had the subject they called about (points awarded for a reporting person that has warrants, investigate)

Better cleanup of most objects involved in the callout

Basic detection if the player is running code (which can spook the suspect) has been added, he might attempt to elude you before you get on scene if he hears you coming)

  4. Thanks for all the positive stuff guys.  I got Albo on board also with adding detail to a high degree of callouts, while I didn't get to test his stuff, I know hes going to bring good stuff to the table also.  We are both going to be working to make the points system a factor - both of us are rather busy lately however, so we often just... leave each other messages, but its going to be pretty kool because we can bounce ideas off of each other..

Doing little things like slowing time, adding sound, can really make the situation tense.  I'm excited to see the YouTube videos of how you guys respond.  I hope I can get it out soon.  I know Albo is also pretty much ready to release his so we are going to aim for around the same time.

found a "soulution", you can download the mod here: http://www.lcpdfr.com/files/file/9302-police-radio-plate-checker-coroner-tow-truck-tackle-suspect-request-pit-barriers-request-additional-traffic-unit-request-k9/ which is the same mod by Finkone, only with a different texture for the radio itself.

hope this helped in the meanwhile.

Correct.  I've become busy IRL so DCP1293 has taken up the task of updating and publishing PoliceRadio (with Albo of course also!)

  6. So I decided after seeing a lot of myths floating around to do a tutorial video this weekend.  It talks about getting LSPDFR in, using the correct version of RagePluginHook, installing some vehicles, adding regular mods that supplement LSPDFR, callouts, and even some sound replacements.

Mods and callouts - what the hell is the difference?

Read below to get educated on terminology.

LSPDFR - More then a mod (modification) in my eyes - its a entire game in itself, and is often not refereed to as a mod (even though, technically, it is.)

RagePluginHook - The back bone that gets it teeths DEEP into GTA V and allows us to run LSPDFR (plug other mods, and callouts)

A Mod - the term "Mod" is often meant something that enhances your LSPDFR experience, think Arrest Manager, Spike Strips, Spotlight, MoreControl V to name a few.  in this neck-of-the-woods, the term mod often means these.  Most of the time "Mods" go into the Plugin folder, from the main directory.  Its important to note however, some mods (such as Police Radio) go into the Plugins/LSPDFR directory because it ties into LSPDFR - but you all knew that, because... you always read the readme.

A Callout - a scripted series of events that works closely in conjunction with LSPDFR to give the player, as a police officer, additional calls to respond to.  The callouts go into the Plugins/LSPDFR folder form the main directory, and LSPDFR starts, and calls upon them during normal play.

CLICK HERE TO SEE HOW TO INSTALL LSPDFR AND RAGEPLUGINHOOK CORRECTLY.

  7. Just for those that do follow in suit with this issue

Problem in the log (Search your log for the crash) if you see...

    Method not found: 'Rage.AnimationTask Rage.TaskInvoker.PlayAnimation(Rage.AnimationDictionary, System.String, Single, Rage.AnimationFlags)'.

    Follow TheUniTs instructions.

"I'm not entirely sure, but if I'm not wrong, you use a version of Police Radio that's supposed to be used with RPH 0.22, and you use 0.20. Try updating RagePluginHook or using a different version of Police Radio."

  8. Got the newest one mate. Maybe in building was a bit dramatic but you get my point. Not complaining though, I damn well love this mod. In fact, I don't think LSPDFR would be as good as it is now without it.

Oh no that was me just making sure I didn't mess up.  My thought process was "God damnit, in a building?  I felt like I solved that!"  :D

  9. Any way to change this, so that Tow Trucks, and Coroner don't spawn in buildings, in gardens, drive into gardens, drive the wrong way etc or is this just because the AI is stupid which would be normal? :P

Coroner and Tow don't spawn in buildings any more.  Thats impossible now.  So you must be using 0.11 or something if they are.  Sometimes they spawn in the golf course, or a parking deck, all of which they are able to drive out of.

Coroner will be getting a logic over-haul.  I wanted to get something out early, and something out that worked right away so players could use this and enjoy LSPDFR right away, they will be getting revised again at some point.
