I am relatively new at modding and I have run into a problem...
I am creating a vehicle that displays multiple lights. Unfortunately, some of these lights are very dim or don't work at all. Please help!!! I would really like to release the model but I need everything to work 100%. Or at least 90% lol
The rear lights and the under lights are connected to the secondary lights.
-only the red light is bright, blue light is dim.
-only the rear window lights work, not the rear bumper lights.
The front grill lights are connected to the warning light pattern.
-only the outside blue lights work, not the red inner lights
-blue outer lights are extremely dim.

I need help!!!!
Hey,
I had a problem with lights being dim awhile ago, but still flashing in game.
The cause was the actual extra in the hierarchy not being named correctly.
I got this article from a person I PMed asking about how they fixed the same problem.
Extras 1, 2, 3 & 4 are named correctly, and setup correctly
Extra 5 & 6 should look like:
extra_5
extra5
extra5_L0
extra_6
extra6
extra6_L0
Extra 7 should only have one dummy like so:
extra_7
extra_7_L0
I hope this post wasn't to confusing to read, and I also hope that it helped you as well!

Depending on how often I'm going to play the game, determines if I will get it digitally, or look for it on a disc.
GTA IV is one I have on disk, but also a digital download from GameStop online. If I ever lose or destroy my disc (somehow) I can install the digital version.
But, I do prefer disc, since if the need arises to uninstall and re-install to fix either some modding errors, or missing files (for whatever reason) the disc is there, and it's instant, and can normally be done without being connected to the Internet. Digital (mainly Steam) if you need to "verify" your game files, and it finds there is some that don't match the original ones (mods requiring same file name, but a different version), then you need Internet to re-download/ "verify" the files.
As for GTA V & what Xbox I use: I don't
Only console I've ever had is PS2. I'll be waiting for GTA V on PC to be released.

To detach:
1. Go into Polygon Mode (Shortcut Key: 3)
2. Go to Select -> Quadr
3. Modify -> Submesh -> Detach
4. Selected Mode On (Spacebar)
5. Click on a set of Extras. They should change, and have a bunch of small red squares on them
6. Select an extra, left click, and it should detach.
7. Done!
Please note, after you detach one, it will go back into Object Mode (I think it's called), and the one you just detached, will be selected.
Either de-select it: Ctrl + Right Click and drag the box over item to be de-selected, or in the hierarchy uncheck, it so it isn't visible.

Okay,
I looked at the thread.
I've added L2s to everything like the post mentioned.
However, in OpenIV, the wheels stay visible at Low Level Of Detail, but in game they still disappear.

You need a chassis_L2.
Okay, but wouldn't that also mean, everything else would need an L2?
Edit: Added a chassis_L2, and added in the version of it with a chassis_L2, and no chassis_L2.
Results weren't as I had hoped. Wheels still disappeared at the same distance, and based on the results, I'd have to add an L2 to everything else, as when the wheels disappeared on the CVPI with a chassis_L2, that's all that was visible too, was the chassis_L2
The version without an L2, the wheels disappeared, and everything else stayed visible

Hi guys,
I wasn't sure if one was released yet or not, so I posted here.
What I'm looking for (or requesting. If not already released somewhere) is a 2008 Chevy Tahoe "Civilian"/ Alloy wheel.
The steel rims do look good, but they don't work that well for an undercover vehicle, that is supposed to look like a normal civilian vehicle.
However, I can't seem to find just the wheel that has been released somewhere.

Hi guys,
I've recently released a DSF CVPI, with the Hubcap wheels.
Now, I've noticed this on my other Unmarked CVPIs, and this one as well.
At a distance, all the wheels disappear, but everything else remains visible.
This happens regardless if different wheels have been used (Ex: Hubcaps) rather then the steel rims provided upon import.
I have tried adding a wheelmesh_lf_L2, and that did not solve this problem.
Everything else (bodyshell, chassis, ELS, etc.) remains visible at the distance the wheels disappear.
Has anyone else encountered this, and if you fixed it, how did you fix this?
Again, this is present even with the steel rim wheels that are on it, upon import, so the issue being specific to a specific type of wheel, such as the Hubcaps, is safely ruled out. (Hopefully)

Hey guys do you know how to map ELS lights (red and blue) to the car's reverse lights?
Zelyth, did get most of it right, but I am going to try say it in steps.
1. Using Select -> Quadr select the reverse lights
2. With Selected Mode on (Spacebar) use the Create -> Copy tool, and left click to make a Reverse Light copy
3. The copies will selected. Using the Modify -> Move tool in the Top view, with only the Y Axis selected, slowly move the copied reverse lights, so they are just a small distance away from the originals.
4. Keeping them selected, and selected mode On, open your Materials Editor, and find the lightsemissive texture you would like to use.
5. Click Assign to Selection in the materials editor
6. Using your U.V. Mapper, with the lights still selected, and selected mode still on, uncheck Disable Old Mapping, check Generate New, then check Force Material, and then click Ok.
7. Use the U.V. Mapper like you normally would.
8. Done!

Hi guys,
Been a while since I posted anything.
I've been debating about possibly, getting more RAM for my PC, (8 GB to be exact as my PC's MAX RAM is 16 GB)
However, I've read somewhere before, that (supposedly) adding more RAM to your PC, can help improve how GTA IV runs, in terms of texture loss, FPS, etc.
Is this accurate?

Firstly, if this has been brought up in the past, and I missed it, apologies for that.
I'm wondering if there's any way to change the color of the GPS "Trail" created by DAS when you select another player in a Multiplayer game.
The color right now is white, which really only works with the >Night Time version of the Google Maps radar Mod.
If it was possible to change it to something like green, then it would work the with >Google Map IV MOD Bonus (Pause Menu Map) 0.1.
Since with that one, it's not a night time version, it's difficult to see the path.
If it's possible in some way, to change the color to something like green could it be changed?

I got that as well when I first installed GTA IV.
I had to right click on the disc drive, and click Open, and then go to the GTAIV folder, right click on the setup application, go to the Compatibility tab, and selected Windows Vista (Service Pack 2).
I'm running Windows 8, but I assume it should be the same

People that take down game servers for the fun of it. A bunch of idiots. Xbox and Playstation are offline, and have been all day.
Exactly. They're clearly a bunch of idiots, and probably 10 year olds, who without the use of scripts, would have no idea how to do what they are doing.
Looking at their Twitter posts, they're just doing this because they are trying to get Re-tweets and more followers, either for themselves, or Twitter accounts they post a link to. A lot of their posts up until now, ask for 3,000 Re-tweets if you want PSN back up, and also things like RT for XBOX & FAV for PSN.
Clearly it's time for them to go back home, go to their bedroom, wake up the next day, and actually get a life, rather then doing this sh*t, and (for some people) ruining their Christmas because they either can't use a new game they got, or use the new console they got. (Please don't ban for anything I said. Just really irritated at this ridiculous B.S.)

Apparently Xbox is back up but PSN is still down.
Hopefully it is, and the Xbox LIVE Service status is just inaccurate

Yes, very close.
The wail is a bit high pitched at certain points, but it's very close.
The yelp isn't close though.
As for the Police Warning, Ambulance Warning, and Airhorn, I'm not sure if they're close or not, since I don't remember hearing either of those in the movie.

Hi guys,
I'm wondering if anyone knows of a released siren, that sounds similar to the siren used in the first Lethal Weapon movie?
I don't have a video or anything of it, but if anyone owns the DVD, it's heard around the part, when Riggs gets blown through a shop window from a shotgun shot, and then they get a call there's a deceased person two blocks fro Murtaugh's house, and Murtaugh says "He's probably blonde, with big dimples" and dispatch replies "How'd you know that Sarge?"

That's what I'm saying, nobody gets pissed when men are the target of violence, but as soon as women are the target the shit hits the fan. It's one of those ridiculous double standards deals.
I buy all my games from JB Hi Fi anyway so this doesn't affect me but it's still stupid.
I watched a social experiment video about this exact thing, a while ago, thanks to a Facebook friend sharing the video on their timeline.
Edit: Apparently the video doesn't exist anymore....

Hmmm, I also got that while making the Biff Snow Plow and RAM 3500 Snow Plow featured in some of my recent gallery uploads.
In my case though, I just used the Modify -> Attach tool, and attached the snow plow to bumper_f, and that seemed to fix it.
Though, re-importing the base model, has worked for me, at times.

Ai_Els_Mp= on
Change the Sp one to off, to disable AI's ELS in Single Player, and Mp one to off to disable AI ELS in Multiplayer.
These are found in ELS.ini
Note, that if you turn off Ai_Els_Mp other players' ELS won't flash in Multiplayer....

Car: 1982 Trans Am (KITT Replica) or a 2014 Charger SRT, Fully Loaded. (Either completely blacked out, or a nice blue paintjob, like lcpdsergeant's Charger)
Truck: Ford F250 (or 350) Diesel Super Duty. Off-roading tires, blacked out. Brush Guard, with 25" or 36" lightbar on the brush guard, along with a Back Rack to protect my rear windows, with 2 Whelen Micro Pioneer Lights facing the rear or a 2012 or 2014 Dodge RAM 3500 Laramie, again blacked out, with a Brush Guard, 25" or 36" lightbar on the Brush Guard, along with a Back Rack to protect my rear windows, with 2 Whelen Micro Pioneer Lights facing the rear.
