  1. There are ingame sounds that would work for all of these. They might not be 100% accurate to the reason but they would work.
  2. Same here.. it's a regular red text update notification in the bottom right of the game.. but instead of a version number says ERROR like CoolerMasterRules said.
  3. Let's compromise guys.. if enough people would like going back to the car to run the person (I wouldn't mind seeing this feature either) and if the developers agree on it then let's ask if it can be a configurable option in the INI file. ;)

At what level do you plan on applying for (state/county/local)? Have you gone through academy yet?

nahh i just think it's a little extreme for a video game lol interesting though.. ;)
  6. They've obviously been drinking too much ALT+O....
  7. Yeah, I know the A.I. is horrible as far as orderly drivers but you would think that there would be SOME way that a mod could possibly give them sanity. Sometimes you don't need backup immediately. If you're dealing with a possible life threatening situation, sure, you want them there asap. However maybe you have a bad feeling about the driver or need another officer to standby in case something happens. Then they could get there in normal traffic time. This would add a lot of realism to the mod, in my opinion. Thanks! Yeah vehicle inspections would be awesome to see in the game. I think the more types of calls that we can think of and get into the mod, the more exciting the game will be and it will get hard to get bored of. I'm starting to get kind of bored after a while seeing the same 3 or 4 calls over and over again. Even minor things like peace officer standby's, liquor inspections, breaking and entering, BOL (be on lookout), etc would be cool to see. You'll never know what's coming next.. Yeah that would be awesome too! Maybe the ability to hold your ranking too if you like it.. because I think I would enjoy being a sergeant and being on the streets more than a captain or chief. I also had a few other suggestions: Backup calls, both non-emergency (like i mentioned) and emergency. So we get to go backup other officers in chases, traffic stops, transports, etc. My other idea is more traffic stop options: 1 - Impeding Traffic 2 - Reckless/Careless Driving 3 - Speeding (10-25) 4 - Speeding (25+) 5 - Possession of Illegal Substance 6 - Possession of Concealed Weapon w/out Permit 7 - Failure to Yield to an Emergency Vehicle Those are just some ideas.. obviously the traffic stop process would have to change so that if you have a subject get out of the car, you search them and then you have the option for them to get back into the car or to arrest them. Once they are back in the car you can write the possession ticket. Also we should be able to write more than one ticket. Another idea I had, and I'm not sure if I've mentioned this in the forums already or not, is that when you make a traffic stop you should have to bring the license back to your car and run the license there to check if it's valid. Again, that would add more realism. Thanks for the input guys!
  8. Hey guys, Here are a few random suggestions I have. First of all I would like to say thank you to the developers for the recent change to redirect traffic around traffic stops. It's nice to be able to perform a traffic stop without civilians pushing your patrol car into you trying to get through.. it was really ruining the game for me.. I've noticed though that when they attempt and go around, often they will come back into the lane to soon and hit the officer or the front of the car that is stopped. If there is any way to extend their path around the stop that would be amazing. Another suggestion I would like to make is non-emergency backup. It would take a random unit within a certain radius and route them to your location. The backup unit would drive normally as they would with traffic. No siren, no lights. They would then either arrive at the scene and park on the side of the road (turning only their lights on), get out, and stand by until the call is over with. If it is a traffic stop they should park in front of the stopped car on the side of the road to avoid collision with cars waiting behind the stop. Also, I understand that what you developers can do as far as modding the game does have it's limits. I too am a programmer, however I've never done any mods for GTA IV and I'm not familiar with the API either. However if possible I know everyone would love this suggestion: As everyone has noticed, after a car sits behind you at a stop or at a red light for so long they get impatient and start trying to weave their way out. Often they bump into cars, hit pedestrians, etc. It would be very nice if we could put a long delay or even stop them from getting impatient. (Maybe even stop all of the annoying honking!) That ay they wait until they can get through. Anyways I don't know how much of this is possible but it's just a few minor suggestions that would be awesome to see in the game. Happy modding EDIT: I forgot one suggestion.. Vehicle inspections.. Not sure if a series of animations is possible but it would be cool to be able to perform a vehicle search. Open each and every door including the trunk to search for drugs/weapons while the suspect is detained in the back of the car.
  9. Yeah, I agree that these are some fantastic ideas! I've been waiting for car accident calls ever since i started using FR.. very exciting stuff. Like the original post mentioned there could be fender benders as well as fatal car accidents. The fender benders could have 2 cars with minor damage (I'm not sure if you could make it consistent or not (i.e. dent in the back of the first car and in the front of the second car, etc) or if it's just random. The cars would both be pulled over to the side of the road and you would have to park your patrol car up behind them. Traffic should be directed around the entire scene. Maybe, to you developers, you could have the officer need to go to each individual and use the clip board animation used for citations to take a report from each. Maybe with a possible witness standing there to to take a report from. For fatal accidents most would obviously be at large intersections or on the highway. You could have 2-3 vehicles involved with heavy damage. The drivers should either be unconscious/dead in the driver seat or possibly lying in the road if they weren't wearing their seatbelt. EMS should automatically be dispatched. (Hopefully the ambulance drives civily and doesn't cause more damage (damn AI driving!)) Also in most cases in real life fire units are dispatched to help protect the scene from traffic, and for rescue purposes. In the case of the game we could dispatch a fire truck or two for show. It's a lot, I know, but I'm just thinking through the actual scenarios. It would be a huge milestone for the whole modification in my opinion. Agreed with the original post that we should also be able to request EMS and fire during any call at any time. I have a few ideas myself that I will post in a new thread too...
  10. Nevermind, I researched it... Thanks
  11. sorry for my ignorance, but what is a trainer?
  12. I see.. what do you think of the rest of the ideas? I think the ability to turn headlights off would be a simple feature to add.. it would be awesome to see that in the next version.
  13. 1) During a traffic stop, when you accept the license you should need to get back into your patrol vehicle to run the license on the computer, and then reapproach the driver as in real life. 2) More realistic names and a lot of them for more realistic ID's. 3) ID's should also show what state they are from. Most should be local but some could be other states. 4) A button to stop calls from coming in temporarily. (If you only want to work traffic for the time being.) 5) When you arrest someone at gunpoint, instead of them laying on the ground cuffed they should be cuffed and follow you to your police car as they do in a traffic stop arrest. 6) More options for a traffic stop: Reckless/Careless Driving, Impeding Traffic, Speeding 10/25/30+over, Noise Violation (Stereo up too loud), etc as well as the option for $50/$75/$90/$125/$250/$500/$1000 tickets. When you issue a more expensive ticket they should have the possibility of becoming angry and/or violent, but not too often. Gotta keep it realistic.. 7) City wide police actions: It would be cool to be driving down a road and see a traffic stop being done by another officer. It would add more realism. If you could somehow program the AI officers to use the mod (not all just a few) then that would be awesome. 8) Status window - A small status window in the bottom right hand corner of the screen that shows the unit number, current location, if we're on a call or not, the location of the call, the type of call, or if we're in a traffic stop. 9) More missions: suspicious activity, fatal car crashes, officer in need of assistance, robbery, domestic dispute, breaking and entering, needing to direct traffic, prostitution, etc. each mission should have different scenarious too.. like hot dog guys dealing drugs, two cars parked next to each other in a dark alley etc.. suspicious activity calls should also have the possibility of turning out to be nothing.. false alarm.. just two scetchy looking fellows talking to each other in an alley or something.. 10) SPOTLIGHT. It would be AWESOME if you could have an actual working spotlight in the car.. using the rightmouse/target button to aim the light. and it should stay on when you get out of the car and stay aimed where you aimed ot for traffic stops etc.. 11) The ability to go to a police station to get more guns/amo. If i think of anymore i'll be sure to post them!
  14. Wouldn't that be difficult considering all of the possible scenarios and animations that a mission would need?
