  1. Maybe it was in perframedrawing. Its been a while since ive had a problem like that.

    But back to the orignial question.

    Does anyone have any other suggestions?

    Possibly putting his script into a perframe drawing would make it so the lights all flash at once as it processes that part of the script each time a frame is drawn?

  2. Shown from the way you were trying to code this to start with... i'm fairly sure i have more of a grip on it than you do.

    I mean... you were wondering why they were being processed linearly, and you had them in a foreach loop. That's covered in the first few days of a programming class buddy.

    You are asking how to process them a the same time. This is nearly impossible on todays computers. On a single core pc it "is" impossible.

    how are you running your script?

    Are you using a tick? per frame drawing? how?

    I'm 90% certain that in a tick if you tell it to wait, it holds up the game until the request is processed.

    in per frame drawing im 99% certain it does.

  3. Do wait(10000000) see what happens.

    You could put it into a perframedrawing instead of a tick. then it would update them all on one frame. as far as it not being simultaneous, i think you may be mistaken as to how the game works with the scripthook.

    The game will essintally pause while your script runs (per tick). Have you actually tested anything in game?

  4. BOTH OF THE FOLLOWING ARE GUIDELINES BOTH ALREADY IN PLACE AND STATED ON THE MDC! Please use them.

    Guys I have another Idea. About 10-15 Minutes ago about 7-10 People were online using the system, and we had a Dispatcher to direct us to calls and such. While in the chat room we were all using a different set of 10-Codes. Now I know we can pull up the same code using an online link or all agree to open LAPD 10-Codes in another tab. However, to avoid explination and confusion, how about adding a 10-Codes button? Like how there are My Inquires and Warrants. A 10-Codes button would work well. We could add a list of the codes from a police source somewhere and use them as the codes in the game.

    Please refrain from using 10 codes, etc...

    As stated they vary.

    Most new departments are going to plain english. Code4 and code3 are pretty much all they use. sometimes code 5 for warrants.

    PLEASE USE PLAIN ENGLISH

    Eg:

    Dispatch, 2118 in service

    or

    Dispatch, 2118 traffic

    2118

    1st and Eagle with Florida 225 MMY, blue civic 2 on

    copy

    (of course you can use 225 mike mike yankee (or mike mike young depending on where you are from, but over text there's no point in using that))

    Do not use codes or 10-codes.

    Thank you.

    RE ALT+TAB

    if you run windowed you may alt tab in multiplayer

    if you use steam you can shift tab and use the browser.

    I no longer see an issue here.

  5. The pseudocode is

    Foreach(car in the array)

    { strobeson }

    void strobeson

    { while (car exists && car lights are on)

    { turn headlights on

    wait

    turn headlights off

    repeat for number of flashes

    }

    }

    I've tried using a parallel foreach loop to execute strobeson but that only seems to freeze the game up.

    That's because you are using foreach.

    try this...

    foreach(car in array)

    {strobeson}

    wait

    foreach(car in array)

    {strobesoff}

    void strobeson

    {

    turn headlights on

    }

    void strobesoff

    {

    turn headlights off

    }

    That should do it.

    also you are doig alot of 'waiting' here...

    that WILL freeze your game. Find a better way of utilizing a tick instead of using 'wait' think about it for 20 mins and you'll figure it out :)

  6. depending on the state, some police officers also have state-wide juristiction.

    Generally state troopers always have state wide juristiction, generally police departments dont.

    Generally state troopers enforce all traffic laws, respond to accidents that are out of towns, etc. It takes a certain kind of person to not mind the smell of brains strewn over the interstate, day after day... well not that often, but you know what i mean - local police dont often deal with the same things.

    Generally local police enforce city/town ordaninces along with all the other laws.

    But again, this all depends - in the United States, policies, laws, and departments are so different wherever you go. There is never a 'correct' answer for a broad question in LE.

    Edit:

    Additionally, if you have a bad experiance with a state trooper, etc... just stop and think to yourself, this guy/gal probably sees things on a monthly basis that would give you nightmares for the rest of your life.

  7. Cops never tell the driver they stopped them because their vehicle is suspicious....

    I dont know about where you live, but here in Colorado if you are parked somewhere they'll just put their lights on and hold you till they clear ur plate. Same for a motorist assist, i believe.

    If they're stopped with their lights on next to me or behind me, im not allowed to leave, is that correct? Or is it just when they have my lic & reg?

  8. Well I just play on regular! Oh and I am sure you are an awesome police officer! :)

    Not a police officer yet, just to clear that up :) Some day soon i hope :)

    i play on regular as well. i used to be a sheriffs explorer for awhile so even though its a video game i know where to position the character and such stuff like that... unless the buttons want to screw up and make me go some other direction lmao

    Yeah. What i dont understand though is how they can grab their gun, pull the trigger, and hit me before im able to even move my finger from the D key to 3 to get out my pistol. lol.

    i've had a couple of incidents where the suspects will start shooting from inside the vehicle. All of a sudden guns appear in their hands and then a fraction of a second later im dead.

  9. Ahhh that makes sense now. The city i saw it in actually just put something in the newspaper about how they are testing out the system to see how well it works, etc. Well it turns out it works great! :)

  10. I'm not asking for any support, but i can not remember if this is the place to report bugs too.

    When i play single player i have no problems with this :)

    When i play multiplayer, i recieve only one bullet for the glock, and one shell for the shotgun - i have to go to the trunk of the vehicle to receive any more ammo.

    I've noticed this problem on several different installs, and different computers - its not just specific to me is what im saying.

    its no big deal for me, im not asking for support, just wanting the team to be aware of the issue - even if multiplayer isn't supported (i really dont keep track of this stuff, i have WAY too much to worry about than what is supported and what isnt)

    Thx.

  11. Great tool, I actually cant play with out using the MDC on my spare laptop.

    ----

    I would be great to actually get the LCPDFR names and MDC names Synced up, Whenever I generate a name it doesn't pick it up in the LCPDFR databes and vise versa .

    But still amazing!

    Also messaged you about being a mod

    Unless LCPDFR releases a sdk of somekind to allow us to access that kind of information, its not possible unfortunately.

  12. Ok so i have seen this on a few police cars.

    What are those little black boxes on the trunk lid?

    I passed a police car the other day, and was like "Ummmmmmm. what was that?" It was an unmarked charger also, how weird?

  13. That sounds good, re the US and Insurance etc, doesn't it vary wildly from state to state?

    Anyone correct me if i am wrong - im only 1 year into my degree, and i haven't really gone over this bit yet. :)

    Insuance is required in all but one US state, i believe.

    Most cities require emissions testing (similar to MOT, but only will test for vehicle emissions - no safety check or anything).

    In New York (where liberty city is based) both emissions, and insurance is required.

    Whre i live in Colorado, emissions testing is only required in certain counties. Your emissions results are required to recieve current registration for your vehicle. Therefore, if you live outside an emissions testing area, you may get registration and drive your vehicle anywhere in the state without passing emissions.

    However, if you live inside an emissions testing area, you may only get your renewed registration if your vehicle passes emissions - therefore, if your vehicle does NOT pass emissions you will not hold current registration and will not be allowed to have it on the road.

    Insurance is pretty simple. Every state but one requires insurance (I believe, but an not 100% sure on that). Every state has minimum coverage requirements that MUST be met in order to drive in that state - in some (if not all) states one can be self insured if they can prove that they have enough cash on hand to cover the minimum requirements.

    if you reside in a state that has lower requirements, and you carry the minimum coverage, you may drive freely in your state, but are not permitted to drive in a state that has a higher minium coverage requirement.

    In the states, when you are pulled over they will ask for 3 things (in colorado at least). Drivers license, Vehicle registration, and proof of insurance. All 3 of which MUST be carried in the vehicle. (reg and insurance must be in the vehicle at ALL times, even when parked - in colorado).

    The officer will most likely check that all of your documents match up and are valid. - license plate - vehicle - registration - insurance. they will run your plate (which should return your current registration info - and match the vehicle it is bolted onto), and they will run your license. As far as i know they do not look up the insurance beyond checking that you have the proof of insurance.

    ((i was involved in an accident where the person at fault only paid for the insurance for a month or two, so that she got her proof of insurance. When it came down to getting my money to fix my car, they didnt cover her))

    Laws do vary from state to state. As far as vehicle laws, most are similar but not the same from state to state, as very little legislation exists on the federal level governing motor vehicles - most is state written. Federal law will overrule state law, and state law will overrule municipal law.

  14. You can change how peds react to a gunshot. however, i do not believe that it can be changed for each specific weapon. Just a gunshot in general. Its in the same file as all of the settings with what peds do when there is a car accident, explosion, car-jacking, etc...

  15. out of your 'programming languages' you posted... Only Java and Python are languages... jquery is just a library that runs on javascript, am i correct? and XML is a markup language, correct?

    When you learn some .net languages, or C, or C++ (you know, some languages that are useful for game programming), let us know. Otherwise dont post about the code.

    Python is your only 'respectable' language you know. I mean Java is good, but anyone who has taken any kind of computer science class in college has probably programmed java.

    And... by the way. java and javascript are very different, so if that was what you meant, keep it in mind. :)

  16. Lol. They are different... One is 0.91 and the other is 0.95, am i correct?

    They download in different links, etc... How more seperate do you want them?

    Anyway, i had asked before...

    What programming languages do you know? Whats your comptuer background... Maybe you can give some basis to your comments - right now you sound like a 14 year old girl who needs to take a midol.

  17. I read your questions... I just thought i would comment on the majority of your post, not the single line where you asked the question you are refering to.

    Read through the support forum, a lot of people are having problems with the mod, its not released yet! For the most part, it'll work callouts are being worked on, i believe...

    Just read through the forums you'll see that people are having the same issues as you, and you'll see that they are being worked on.

    Since you got upset that i didnt answer your questions, i will answer them below.

    1.

    You really dont know what this mod is about? Maybe you should look through the forums before asking this one.

    2.

    There are not really any tricks, read through the forums, you will see that others are having the same issues and that they are being worked on.

    3.

    You start playing the mod by downloading it, installing it, and pressing ALT+P and going to a police station. Its pretty simple. Follow the on screen directions. Read through the forums for more information...

    4.

    Some keys were re assigned on this version, yes - and yes you do need the key list for 0.95 if you are using 0.95... Thats pretty straight forward.

    5.

    There are callouts that happen, people running from other officers, etc... You stated in your post about callouts, so you pretty much answered your own question. Oh and there is another option called "OTHER" that pretty much sums up everything else...

    6.

    Prisoner transportation is to transport a prisoner, or suspect... Its pretty simple... Im not sure i see where the confusion is.

    7.

    You can get whatever weapons you want, just go get them.

    8.

    This mod isnt a joke... If it was, do you think that they would have forums, etc...?

    So pretty much, if you read through the forums you can answer NEARLY ALL of your questions. The remainder of them are simple, straight foward questions that im sure anyone can find answers to if they put their mind to it.

    Oh and one other thing... what .net languages do you know? Any examples of you stellar programming skills - since you see it fit to comment on someone elses work?

    I think that your time would be better spent elsewhere, like... idk, outside... It seems to me that you spend too much time on the computer, and not enough time working on your social skills.
