  1. Maybe it's just me. But I peruse the forums during the dark of night and my wee eyes burn. They burn!

It's 2020. It's a new decade! I think I speak for the community when I say G17 Media needs to get with the times and make a dark theme for lcpdfr.com.

Or maybe it's 1:30 am and I have a headache and should be asleep. 🤔

    No. That couldn't be.

But for real idk how hard it is to implement a dark theme. But if it isn't a huge inconvenience it would be a really nice quality of life thing.

  2. Personally when I first started installing vehicles I enjoyed Kane Jr's videos on how to install vehicles.

If his videos aren't helpful to you I have made a text guide on how to replace vehicle models for you below.

If this still does not help there is plenty of people on the forums that would love to help so don't be afraid to ask.

Here is a step by step guide on how to install (replace) police car models.

This is for non-els cars!  If you want me to explain that too I would be more than happy too, just let me know.

This may also seem very dumbed down. This is not to be an asshole and belittle you. I just want to make clear you know what to do.

    1. In your GTA main directory, this is where you installed lspdfr, make a new folder by right clicking and go down to "New > folder". Name this folder "mods" (with no quotation marks)
    2. Go back to your main directory and right click on the folder named "update" then click copy
    3. Go back into your new "mods" folder and right click and paste or ctrl+v
    4. After the update folder has been copied to your mods folder go online and download "OpenIV - the ultimate modding tool"
    5. After downloading you will get something called "ovisetup". Double click on that and read what it says, and agree to the terms of service.
    6. One of the first things OpenIV will ask for is the location of your GTAV folder.  If you have GTAV on Steam the game can be found here: Steam/steamapps/common/Grand Theft Auto V.
    7. Once you have done that click on the little box with a check mark in it in the top left area under favorites called "ASI Manager" and install the three presented items: ASI Manager, OpenIV.ASI, and openCamera.
    8. Now that that is done click into your mods folder.
    9. From your mods folder you want to follow this path: update/x64/dlcpacks/patchday(highest #)/dlc.rpf/x64/levels/gta5/vehicles.rpf
    10. Now that you are here I would highly advise making a favorite of this file in the top left. Favorites act as a bookmark and make life easier next time you want to replace vehicles.
    11. The "vehicles.rpf" file that you navigated to is where you will want to drag and drop any vehicle files you download into
    12. If all has been executed correctly launch your game and enjoy!

If you would like me to clarify anything or explain anything in more detail please just let me know and I'll try to get back to you ask soon as possible. 😄

It's probably some form of rental car for film purposes. Normally marked police cars in NY will not have a standard issue license plate and registration sticker.

Also, I found the original pictures....

I think everyone who looked found them...

But yeah searched forever ctrl+f'ing wikapidia pages of towns/cities in New York and New Jersey and I couldn't find anything.

Thanks buddy!! - Off topic but I'm trying to see if anyone knows:

I want to try to remove the tints on some of my vehicles from default if this is possible. Some of the lights don't show as the tints cover them. I can remove them in the trainer but when I call for backup and another of the same vehicle arrives, it comes with the tint with no lights flashing

    Too remove tint being default:

    1. In OpenIV go through this path: "mods/update/update/common/data/level/gta5/vehicle.meta"
    2. Right click and edit the "vehicle.meta"
    3. Press "CTRL+F" and search for whatever car it is you want to remove the tint from
    4. Once you have searched the vehicle scroll down and find the line that says "<diffuseTint valie="xxxxxxxxxx" />"  (Note that the x's could be any random string of letters and #'s)
    5. Replace the string so it looks like this "<diffuseTint valie="0x00FFFFFF" />"
    6. Load the game and see if it worked

DISCLAIMER: Know that I just researched this so I can't 100% guarantee it will work as I haven't done this myself

Well I have retextured that Truck with Karachi Police including Sindh Police Monogram. I can Retexture many others with no trouble, but I wanna have Sindh Police Uniform as well, I somehow figured it out, how I can do it, once i get time I will make the Sindh Police Uniform.

Good luck in your modeling adventures my friend! 😄

  6. I don't really see how these "useless features" really hurt the experience. Like how would spawning as Trevor or Franklin change the game play of lspdfr at all? I see where you're coming from when you say you play lspdfr for lspdfr, I think we all do. But I just don't see how you can get this riled up about spawning somewhere else with a different car and at a different player model. Also for the average player who is new and doesn't know how to install EUP and all the other mods I bet its nice to be able to get in and have a customization player.

And I don't want to sound like a broken record and say what everyone else says but the team that develops lspdfr is small and they don't make people pay for lspdfr.

One thing I can somewhat agree with you on is I wish all the options where present in the .ini file from download but I think they have done a very good job of displaying the settings and features of lspdfr on the website.

You say you want some better features. So my question is what kind of things do you think should be added?

how do you change it to a custom key? sorry noob here.

If you want to change the default it will be under "lspdfr / keys.ini" if you want to change your ultimate backup keybinds it will be under "plugins / lspdfr / ultimatebakup.ini"

Read through those files and you can change the keys to whatever you want them to be.

This website will tell you the names of all the possible keybinds

  8. I think the problem you're having is that "s_m_y_cop01" isn't a component that can be added to EUP. "s_m_y_cop01" is a ped model so it replaces the default cop model and you have to use a trainer to switch to the model.

To replace it in OpenIV go through this path:

    "mods/x64e/models/climages/components_s_m_y.rpf"

Then in game use something like "Enhanced Native Trainer Update 42" (This is what I use and it works great) and look for the cop model when changing your player model.

Edit: Oh and to answer your other question EUP allows you to modify any GTA online player model. If you install "LSPDFR EUP Configurations" it will change the AI to use EUP outfits.

  9. I assume you are trying to replace it in the "x64e".

Try instead going to "mods/update/x64/dlcpacks/patchday(highest #)ng/dlc.rpf/x64/levels/gta5/vehicles.rpf" and replace the vehicles here.

Side note: "police4" is actually the unmarked cruiser (Vic). The police van is "policeb".

  10. When you are in the car does the siren activate when you press down on the left stick? If yes then you either don't have the xml or the xml is broken. If no then does pressing left on the dpad do anything? Do just the wig-wags or tail lights come on? If yes it can be solved with a simple restart of your computer. Like Stranger said take a screenshot of your pack_default folder and post it.

  11. You also have two mods folders. Things you add to "_mods" won't do anything they will only initialize if they are in "mods".

When you see on the forums someone saying "rename mods to _mods" that's because if that fixes your problem it means something is wrong in your mods folder. Renaming your mods folder simply deactivates it. It's not a permanent fix.

And make sure your you are going through the right path when replacing vehicles it should be:

    "mods / update / dlcpacks / patchday(highest #) / dlc.rpf / x64 / levels / gt5 / vehicles.rpf

Tell me if anything I said doesn't make sense and I'll try to explain it more to the best of my ability. 😄
