Run what program? I'm assuming LSPDFR?
no Vehicle Gadgets. It has to load the plugin the first time to create its folder and all the conditions. Once that is done you exit and drop your XMLs in the folder.

nvm i found it

only question i have now is where do i put the xml
maybe it is like els and it has its own folder in the root dont quote me on that because idk
You load in the program and run vehicle gadgets and it will create its own folder and conditions. XMLs go into the folder much like ELS

How do I do this? Is it in the vehicle.meta or what?
in the vehicle ytds. Make back ups and play guess and check as you edit the textures with photoshop or gimp
-
If you look at the lamphead textures they generally have an orange or white center. On some lights that is all that really emits which causes your red to appear orange. The simple way to fix it is to darken shade of red on that lighter area.

You probably got purged with all the new changes/security.

Trying to come in late and act cheeky frankly is just sad. Some of the issues that stemmed from this have been resolved. Some are ongoing. Coming in and acting like a jackass helps no one.

Where did you get that from? Fantasy land? If someone takes your stuff without permission, gather the evidence and report it. If someone downloads your stuff and then rips it, what can be done to stop it. And plus, arnt these cars being used ripped from other games?
What are they supposed to do if it isnt posted on their site? Invade the other site? Ban people from this platform that have the same name as someone else on another site? What can they do? Your not going to make it difficult, they find ways and it wont be difficult. Your just asking for imaginary protection. Its literally a download.
I guess they can ask what their intentions are prior to allowing the download.
Its not fantasy land. Also no not all those cars are ripped from other games. If it was always that simple me and medic wouldnt have something close to $3k invested in models.
As for the second part, if enough information can be provided showing say you go on live stream showing your login name on LSPDFR and you admitting your stealing peoples models you dont feel that is enough evidence to warrant banning you from this site? It doesnt matter if you will attempt to circumvent said ban, the point is they show they are attempting to do something. -

Can someone please briefly explain me what happened? I'm reading the comments and I don't get it
So basically over the weekend a group of developers decided to make a more secure website to host their models. Someone noticed the models were no longer on here and asked a question. A community Moderator replied calling all the developers doing this drama queens and they would come crawling back eventually. Obviously said group did not take the blatant disrespect kindly. Once said moderator realized he messed up he started deleting and locking the threads. That prompted even more backlash as not only were they disrespected but they were also being censored. Right now some of us are discussing options for moving forward with the staff here. Its likely if you want to get your vehicles from one website and your LSPDFR and scripts from another.

So yea, I have had shit stolen from me and I do know what its like, but you all need to step into reality and stop living in fantasy.
If there is a will, there is a way.
Good day sir.
So using your great example. I want money I should be able to take your money with 0 repercussions because you cant stop me. Also no one should want a way to report me for taking said money because its not like its going to stop me?
No one is expecting miracles and we know even with the increased security we are setting up its not going to be 100% prevention. We are making it as difficult as possible for them. What most of us want is an open dialogue with the staff to work out realistic prevention/punishment/reporting. A shoulder shrug and, "welp until they post it here its not our problem." Is the same as saying feel free to rip and steal whatever you want. As long as you dont come in and shit in my house I dont care. -

@panoszafAgain, i've never actually seen his comment or post so i cant express a valid opinion, but imho ezra is just a moderator, he is not on a payroll so i don't really think we can compare him to an actual employee of a firm. Yes he is childish and imo an idiot for what he supposedly said, but i think his comment on the matter is just his personal opinion and should be forgotten. I don't think it deservs all this attention. Just like a youtube comment. Useless opinion by a "nobody". He is nobody.
Generally speaking paid or unpaid if your speaking from a position of power or assumed power derived from a company or group it is no longer your personal opinion but the opinion of that company or group. I work directly with Medic4523, We constantly explain to our staff members that handle everything from moderation to support cases that they speak with our voice because we put them in those positions to assist people so they need to be aware of what they are saying and how as it reflects on Medic's name/brand.

Nothing for a video game
I don't understand why you're paying for anything to make a model. I've never touched modelling and never will, so obviously I don't understand how that works and I'm more than willing to admit that.
The cool real looking models you see in GTA5 have to come from somewhere. Either you have people who rip work from another game or your paying someone to take something like a CAD drawing and creating the 3d Model for you to use. This first part can run anywhere from $100-500 on average. Once you have said model it generally needs to be converted to actually work in GTA 5. It also generally needs to be poly crunched so the game engine doesnt die when they spawn in. Then you need to template/put on lights/touch up the models. After all this work is done to the tune of sometimes hundreds of man hours worth of work you get something that looks like this. So yes even though the end product was released in a locked state for everyone to enjoy someone actively stealing it so they can do whatever they want with it is not ideal as its your blood/sweat/tears.

Have you ever taken a moment to stop and think that maybe people wouldn't rip if shit wasn't sold for hundreds of dollars? What happened to making and releasing models because people like to?
The problem with this mentality is the people in question are no longer only going after paid models. They are starting to download stuff we released locked for free and unlocking them because they deserve access to the models we paid for.

Hey guys sorry to interrupt!
I fully understand how bad it is to get your mods stolen, ripped, leaked, whatever it may be, and from the perspective of a modder I understand all the outrage with the ripping that has been going on in both FR and the modding community in general.
However, what actually do you think the FR staff can do about this? Honestly, tell me what you think they can do to stop all ripping in the FR community. There is no answer, and the answer certainly isn't moving all your mods to a different website... That's just... fucking stupid. You still mod for the LSPDFR mod, and every one of you started with FR so let's not forget that, and maybe try to work together with the staff to try and stop it? Idfk that's just what im thinking as a concerned third party!
Pretty sure it was not more then a year ago you removed all your stuff and it was not even for stuff getting stolen. Your being a hypocrite. -

Someone who is stealing and unlocking your mods definitely is happy to jump through those hoops...
So because they might be willing to put forth the effort why give them any difficulty?

Is it actually difficult for you to understand that there is basically nothing that can be done to stop people who want to cause harm from causing harm?
So because we can not fully prevent someone from committing a crime we just shouldn't have police or laws? Not everyone is a superman willing to jump through hoops constantly setup new accounts and change VPNs IPs. You setup some baseline stuff to prevent the casuals and fight the hardcore as best you can instead of rolling over and showing a yellow belly.

We don't deal with activities outside our site, it really does come down to that. There is no effective way we can police activity outside of it, as much as we'd want to.
The only site I can think of that does punish users for actions that they perform outside of the website is Twitter, which gets constant issues with people claiming overzealous moderation.
It is regrettable that one of our moderators expressed their own personal views on the matter, we don't advocate this position and will discuss this internally.
We'll leave this thread open if you seriously want a discussion. If this ends up just a fest of name calling, and spamming website addresses, it will be closed per our site rules.
Here is the problem as I see it. A member of your staff instead of taking a calm professional approach to the situation and saying something along the lines of Authors may remove their content at any time and then locking the thread decided to take shots at us. Again our intentions were never to do this until he basically called us whiny drama queens who will come crawling back. As it stands with how your site works its not feasible to protect assets anymore. We are moving those assets somewhere we can control and protect them. The goal was to do so peacefully as most of us do enjoy LSPDFR. After Erza's comments that we take as a direct representation of LSPDFR's position it greatly offended us.
You guys do not want to invest the time or effort into protecting moddlers assets. That is fine. We can work with someone who will. The blatant disrespect then attempts to straight censor us though is unacceptable.- PBSO Guy, Jedahdiah and firemanjay

So far it looks great. With you, Medic and a few others working on fire trucks we should have Rosenbaur, Pierce, Kennworth and International mounts out soon. Would be nice if someone start on a Seagrave and KME but essentially they would have to be done damn near from scratch as I could not find a model available for either. I have a E-One Quest that needs crunched and converted at some point. Its nice to see variety on the Fire/EMS side that people wont have to pay for.

Steam Greenlight is gone. Steam Direct will be used once the game is finished and working.
Shows how much I paid attention to it. They were probably losing too much on failed projects. -
Damn things keep popping in my head the more I think about this. Some other thoughts. You plan on having mod support and I love that 100%. Are you thinking about having a character creation tool built in? Think like XCOM where you can create the person and their background story initially and assign them their specialties. All created characters start as a state academy graduate. Give the option to upload them to something like Steam Workshop and people can share and download officers that have progressed etc.
As the game progresses you can overright the save when you export.
For things like when your using your SWAT team:
I dont know how hands on you want tactical tactics to be but you could implement something like Breach and Clear or DoorKickers where if you have the layout IE Public buildings you can plan your assault. For Home assaults your generally not going to have an accurate layout so the team is going to have to "Flow" to clear. -
So after looking into this further I am curious on Officer Development and had some thoughts.
Do you have plans for Quirks that can effect an officers performance and may even trigger "Off Duty" Issues.IE Officer Snuffy has a drinking problem and got pulled over for a DUI. How would you like to proceed with cause and effects based on your choices?
Also since you can hire officers with experience already, do you plan on incorporating where you are hiring Sgt Snuffy from?IE Sgt Snuffy is a 5 year veteran of Nearest Major Police Department or County Sheriff's Office. He specializes in areas XYZ from his time there.
This could also lead into being able to save officers you have grown attached to with their own unique backstories etc to hire on as you progress to different areas.IE Officer Snuggly from Map 1 was a good clean cut straight shooter and after 2-3 years on patrol in your little township you decided to send him to State Academy to train to be a Sgt. Once you did you Exported him to a recruitment pool to save for later and quit that township and decided to load a small city of 10k people. Your first act as the new Chief was to bring in a trusted officer you know to manage your shifts etc. Maybe even starting off with a negative buff as he gets used to managing say a 5 man patrol for the rural area to now working in a small city with a group of 15 officers under him.
I dont know how indepth you want the management of personal to be but frankly I think doing something like that would make the Officers you hire more "Yours."
Officer Snuggly graduated the academy last month. He started his career with 3 years with Golf PD was trained and promoted to SGT transfered to Hotel PD where he continue his career for 4 more years and attended SWAT school and LT school. He then Transfered to India County Sheriff's Department and continued he career for 3 more years and attended Capt school.
Another thought as your looking and developing your Department. Once you reach what I would think the limits of the game engine will probably be before you have to worry about managing sub stations or Districts etc is about 100k population. You mention wanting to build training academies for your department for in house development. Maybe adding a way to improve your in house training past the default "State Academy" and open up potential income streams from other nearby departments sending their officers to train at your academy. You could also then potentially open it up to officers from around the World coming in. IE your SWAT team training is top of the line with the latest and greatest in wiz bang shit. The FBI HRT team wants to send 2 guys to train at your school. The Moscow PD wants to send 3 guys to train and take some of your tactics home with them etc. Then give you options while some of those guys are in town training to recruit them away from their departments.
Also are you considering using steam greenlight at all once you have a working game? -
I would buy it and play it. Looks like a better version of Police Tactics: Imperio
