I had a look and it looks like there is an issue with the software creating a pending version with a very large amount of files.
I will report this upstream to IPS and see if I can roll out a fix for us in the meantime.
If you put the fix through, it unfortunately didn't help.

Is it possible to add backup options through the XML "special units" folder, or edit pre-built backup options there?
Tell me if i posted in the wrong topic.
Hi. You can add custom units to the Special Units.xml. Copy an existing unit, paste and name it whatever you want. Here is an example of mine.

https://gyazo.com/814cd4f92cd5380862adc510c0747dfcImportant: Remember to copy from the starting <SpecialUnit> to the ending </SpecialUnit>

I recall a couple years back you guys couldn't get it to work, but it has been a long time without any word. Tattoos are one of the most wanted things in terms of character creation. Skin Control and Simple Trainer both let you put tattoos on your LSPDFR character and use said character for LSPDFR without issue, I'm curious what the problem is on your guy's end that makes them unable to be added.

Yeah can confirm I can't get them to work either. Going to need an update from the legendary @bejoljo

Thus far we haven't had any reports of his mods not working with the latest version. I would triple check that you've installed everything correctly. Additionally, if you installed a "police smart radio" folder, delete it. Then see if his mods work.
Also, much like myself, Bejoljo doesn't use this site. He has a Discord.

Hopefully, Bej would collab with Sam (or other way round) to make LSPDFR better..
I don't ever see that happening, unfortunately. The main reason Bejoljo left this site is because management got pissy about the choices Bejoljo made with his mods (online only/version checker, remove support for previous versions) and stopped allowing his mods to be uploaded here until he removed it.

Ultimate Backup. It has a remote K9 door, but no window, and there's nothing like that. I highly, highly doubt the animation exists in GTA for a dog jumping out the window.

Three other things to think about:
1) Not everyone would consent to having their username in game.
2) Depending on the streamer, you might end up getting the names of people who only view, but never chat.
3) Have you seen a Twitch chat? Some people have inappropriate, trolly or flat out stupid names. Do you really want Exar_The_Sexar, TFOKatarn, necropanda and whatever else name to be brought up in a game that can be seen by others?

Aye... but Traffic Policer did something that as so far Bejojo's stuff doesn't do.. ambient traffic violations, beyond just random drunks that are easy to spot. It had drivers on cell phones, blatant speeding, minor speeding, running red lights, etc. Playing as SAHP is no bueno atm without that.
Ambient events are part of most people's problem. Half the crashes they get? Try to spawn ambient events but something went wrong. Lag with their game? Ambient events.
There are plenty of ambient events from the normal, every day GTA AI alone.

Albo's mods are outdated and not worth using anymore.
Use Bejoljo's mods.
Also use "Custom Pullover" to be able to mimic traffic.- MattCC16, Officer Gamboa and Lar5en

I admit that it is a bit confusing, especially for newcomers. What we did for RDRFR, and could do here as well, is have a plugins folder in the "lspdfr" folder (where audio, data etc. is). That way everything is in one place. I am not sure if I want to remove support for the "plugins/lspdfr" folder as that has been around for many years now, but perhaps having the two folder co-exist. What do you think?
I think that could work with how things are currently. If folks want to do the plugins/LSPDFR, they still have to make it themselves. That way there's no conflicts from which LSPDFR folder is being read/
When you say have a plugins folder inside lspdfr, would it be plugins-->LSPDFR, or just lspdfr-->plugins?
If the latter, that could work.

I like this if people would actually read the text documents included with downloads. The amount of readme's that go unread is astronomical.
That makes it easier for us. If people don't read it, we can tell them that we don't give help to people who don't read readmes.

Something I (and UnknownBastion) see a lot on ULSS is people who place their LSPDFR plugins inside of the lspdfr folder in the main directory. For reasons still unknown to me, you guys included a lowercase lspdfr folder, then named the plugins lspdfr folder LSPDFR, which isn't even there by default.
Going forward, I think either:
1) The lowercase lspdfr folder needs to be renamed to lspdfr configs, or something that tells people this folder is for audio and data, not plugins,
2) Rename the LSPDFR folder to LSPDFR plugins
3) Include the LSPDFR folder with the download, and include a text document that explains what that folder is for.Either way, something needs done to alleviate the constant confusion for new people. Logically, it makes no sense having two of the same named folders for modding anyway.

If it's an individual car, I have a pinned topic that features a tutorial on installing addon cars, give that a read over and verify you're doing it correctly.
If it's a dlcpack, make sure you correctly added the dlcpack name in dlclist.xml.

+1, Wix is absolute shite if you aren't on their payment plans. You get what you get when you select a free plan, what one has to remember is that it's not free for Wix to host these, and therefore they're plastered with ads.
IIRC he's paying for premium. He told me a month or two back, can't recall. bejoijo.com might have been bought through wix.

So would i be available to make a custom localpatrol in special units and then just change the name in there?
You can make it to where the special unit responds in a pursuit or as code 3 backup, but I don't think you can link local patrol and special units.
If you're asking if you can choose which area a unit responds in, like city or county, yeah you can.

Turn your internet connection off, if everything runs as intended then you're right.
I was done, but this part made me laugh. Here's how it works bud. If you don't have an internet connection or Bejoljo's plugins can't verify, only his plugins stop working. LSPDFR does not crash, it doesn't stop working, you can still play normally.
Again, you have no fucking clue what malicious means. You have zero idea about anything you're speaking of, you're just salty because Bejoljo requires an internet connection.
If Bejoljo's code was malicious, it would kill LSPDFR if you weren't connected to the internet. Re-read that a few times so it properly sinks in.
Does it do that? No! It only stops his plugins. Back in the day, PeterU required you to agree to his terms of service in game. A window would pop up and you'd have to read his TOS and agree. If you didn't, his plugins wouldn't work. Still wanna bitch that Bejoljo is malicious all because boohoo I need an internet connection?

To make it clear, I have nothing against bejo and I think his plugins are amazing. I even donated! First time I've ever donated to a mod.
But writing in malicious code does make it malware. I'm not mad, I'm disappointed. I sincerely regret ever reading this thread, it's likely that if I hadn't I'd have never have known or found out about the malicious code hidden in it.
I also disagree with redistributing, when I have a freelancer look into removing the malicious code it'll be for personal use only as I don't like having malware on my machine. No redistribution will happen. I like to know that something will run as intended without malintent if my connection goes down or some arbitrary condition isn't met.
It's software that maliciously breaks a game if your internet goes down for whatever reason. It's software that punishes you for not being online, that is malice, which makes it malware by definition.
Mal means malicious
Ware for software.
Google it. That's what malware means.
I disagree with what those people did by the way, redistributing is not on. But had he removed the malicious code himself then it would never have happened, so you can't really blame them too much if he left them no choice, right? Though they should have kept it for personal use and not share it.
IT DOES NOT BREAK THE GAME!! HIS CODE IS NOT MALICIOUS!! MALICIOUS DOES NOT MEAN ONLINE ONLY!!! Holy shit, I legitimately am baffled by the stupidity you're displaying.
Clear your mind and read this.
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AN INTERNET CONNECTION, ONLY BEJOLJO'S MODS STOP WORKING. YOU CAN STILL PLAY LSPDFR WITHOUT CLOSING THE GAME

I'm done debating with someone who can't understnd. Don't use Bejoljo's plugins, and don't ask us for help with them. You are very clearly not the target audience we desire.

If it maliciously stops something from working then it's malware by definition, clue's in the 'mal' part of ware. And yes, it is software. It's not hardware is it? It's code that runs on your computer.
Anyway I'm not arguing anymore, as my first post indicated I was a big fan of the plugin I literally had no idea it was malware until I read this thread, I regret that I did, it's unlikely I'll be without a connection but saddens me that if I ever am I have software that'll maliciously prevent me from playing a game.
I've removed it and will look to an alternative, maybe a freelancer can be paid to remove the malicious code or rewrite a similar plugin for me I'll have to look into it.
That's..that's not how it works. Something isn't malicious just because you disagree with it. Let me make something crystal clear to you: Whether you agree or not, the fact of the matter is, his plugins are not malware. It is NOT malware to force you to be online. You seriously need to gain some knowledge on these subjects.
Quotemaybe a freelancer can be paid to remove the malicious code
The code is not malicious, for once in your life stop being stubborn. People like you are why a lot of modders quit, or hide their stuff behind super exclusive servers and paywalls. Keep your hands off of Bejoljo's plugins unless you're going to use them in the way they are meant to be. Don't ruin other people's work because you're ignorant.

Tto end this idiotic conversation, Bejoljo's plugins haven't harmed anyone's PC. I play LSPDFR a lot, my PC is perfectly fine. I have anti viruses and anti maleware I run once a month, nothing at all. On his Discord, we have zero reports of his plugins causing harm to his game or PC.
You're just mad because online is a requirement. I get it, but don't stoop to such a low level you have to falsely claim something is malicious.
To put you in your place even more, a while back a group of degenerates did decompile his code and redistribute without the forced online. Considering these people are not Bejoljo's #1 fans, if there was malicious code, we'd of heard about it.

WHAT PLUGINS CAN U NOT LIVE WITHOUT?

Some of them may seem like ones you can live without/aren't that important, but each one serves a purpose and increases the roleplay value.
