  1. Its been a while.

I'm feeling left out, however. GTA V seems like a profitable market, yet I'm literally unable to play it, because I broke my serials, and no matter what I try, I'm not going to get another one - I'll never trust customer support. Although I'm in this unique situation, I just feel so left out.

    That's why I'm starting a new project - the lore-friendly Merseyside pack.

Featuring such things as the Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue, the North West Ambulance Service and the RNLI, all turned into their lore-friendly equivalents, this will fit into Los Santos as a reprive from the boring black and whites and out-of-place Hyundais and Vivaros. That is, if I could get it all working. Stay tuned.

EDIT: My zombified version of GTA V works in OpenIV! That means I can screenshot to the extent of when I first modded! Stay tuned for updates.

But one thing for sure is both Hong kong and singapore police are both used to trained by the UK metropolitan police . but the facts is

Singapore and hong kong police forces are both armed . i mean the regular police and special constabulary .  even thought Singapore and hong kong is well knowed for its gun control in border . it is well knowed facts that is it almost impossible to carry guns to singapore . but still the singapore and hong kong police carry arms for its own police officer safety .

That was back in the 70s, 80s and 90s. What difference does that make now?

AND WHAT DOES HONG KONG AND ONCE AGAIN, SINGAPORE GOT TO DO WITH ANYTHING? They're independent British colonies, so frankly, we shouldn't give a toss about them in all recent events, unless there's some serious link. So if you're going to raise something about Singapore for the billionth time, notice that there's a HUGE cultural difference, and stop bringing up arming our police.

They don't want guns, we don't want them either.

  3. I've got little to no idea about what I'm on about, but after all the net neutrality talk on Reddit, and that pop-up on GTAF that scared the sh*t out of me, I imagine LCPDFR, as a small-time downloads hub (unlike the vast sites like Netflix), may be hit hard by the supposed derailment of net neutrality.

Shouldn't the site be doing something about this? I know, GTAF caters to an international audience, but that pop-up did cause some concern. Even if it is as little as changing the logo and making a news post, or as big as slowing down downloads across the board (I wouldn't reccomend that), or even fully blacking out, anything can do. Because people's download speeds may get affected by this, and that'll harm the site, leading possibly to some butterfly effect where the site is badly hit.

I don't know what else to say, so I'll just link to the reddit r/blog post:

  4. I see we've won! Come on lads!

Ah, but sadly, that means people won't go back to GTA IV. GTA V was a sh*tty port to begin with for me - serials got screwed up, and I still can't play it one year on. Oh well. I'll throw my weight behind GTA V modders, but I can't fully get involved with the fight.

A shame, really. I'm still not shelving out £60 to buy GTA V again. Not after this.

  5. I'm trying to upload a mod, but whenever I put a file into the downloads section, the site throws up an error saying there was a problem processing the file, and that I should contact the admins every time it reaches 100%, which makes the upload fail. Is something wrong with the servers, or is it something I did wrong/do I have a bad internet connection?

  6. So this'll be my last post for a while.

OpenIV probably was at risk of being shut down by TTWO. The Liberty City mod, however, HASTENED this shut-down, in my opinion.

There's reprecussions going around now. GTA V is being flooded with negative reviews. Major gaming news sites and YouTubers are covering this. And for now, we can still use OpenIV, but not for long.

As a small-time GTA IV modder, I've been hit hard by this. OpenIV has a decent WFT viewer, but SparkIV doesn't. This means I can't preview textures without launching the game, making it harder to start analysing what went wrong and what went right, if I use SparkIV. It also means I can't take screenshots for my uploads, leaving them dead in the water if I want to keep within the rules. However, I am seeking alternatives.

There are some crying violence, there are some panicking, and there are some blaming the devs. Honestly, now that I think of it, OpenIV were in the wrong. But as @Senatov said, we need a SparkIV for GTA V - something that keeps within the rules, doesn't get risky with their projects, and in all, just avoids GTA O and lets you install Ford Granadas in place of Staniers. (someone please make that)

In all, now we wait for a solution. So everyone, while we wait for something like SparkIV, or some resolution, go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over.

  7. The problem is, while this isn't the right section, it's a hot topic, is the GTA IV modelling scene. If you can't take pictures in-game, you're only bet is to use OpenIV for screenshots to keep within site rules. Now that it's gone, I can't. SparkIV is still available, but the WFT viewer is crappy - sometimes it doesn't work, and even if it does, it does not show the livery at all, the camera angles are horrible, and the vehicle is down to it's lowest LOD.

For GTA IV, then, is there such an alternative that has a good WFT viewer?
